To those comparing mafia to this— it's not even close because while I agree that the mafia shouldn't be romanticized in any way, comparing that to the history of slavery and racism is just unbelievable. Given the historical context the author is portraying, racism and slavery were far more widespread, systemic, and impactful, so presenting them the way they are in the story raises different concerns than the depiction of organized crime.
So indigenous people only exist for shit like this? For disgusting fetishes.
the audacity to base this during actual events that took place in history and to set the relationship between a slave and an owner of that time. Also the way they didn't even bother to give the black characters faces like I know they're npcs and shit but still lmfao u can draw others w faces but not them?? I was genuinely excited about this but now I'm just disappointed.
lowkey it's a bit disappointing now and seems a lil lazy bc I swear I have seen nothing but boss baby here cracking taekjoo non stop and I get that's the point of the chapters being like this bc it's that island arc in the novel but in the novel there's actually plot and tension between them during this arc, just my opinion

I'm just so mad bruv ts some white savior bullshit
