usually i hate age gaps and “raising” tropes but this one is tolerable because the ml was also technically a kid. they were both angsty teens going thru traumatic shit so it’s not as bad as other stories. i really appreciate the character writing. i like how there’s no “good” or “bad” person, they’re both flawed characters. the author did a great job at fleshing out their characters and showing us their thought processes and opinions. it feels like i’m reading about a real relationship between real people instead of your regular fiction. this is honestly a really good story. it’s aggravating at times due to the miscommunication but the author writes out miscommunication very well. i usually fucking hate it when bitches can’t communicate but i like how the characters confront each other when frustrated instead of dragging the shit on and on again without progressing at all. the au was a nice break from all of the angst.

i understand that alya doesn’t have to like thalia because thalia is the daughter of her dad’s mistress and thalia hasn’t been a nice person to her either. i don’t hate alya but damn is it hard to not be biased when everyone in the manhwa favors alya over thalia even though it’s not thalia’s fault that she was born. i can acknowledge that thalia’s done bad stuff and i can acknowledge that alya doesn’t need to be nice to alya but its sad to see that no one, not even thalia’s own mother is on her side
