I agree with the last bit, my guess is because it's their connection in their past life. From what we see in the flashbacks, he doesn't immediately fall for her so I think it's safe to say that even he doesn't know why he's drawn to her and it's probably something to do with souls or whatever

Agreed! I love how the MC slims down gradually. In the images I have seen she looks as a person within (what I would consider) normal weight range, not skinny legend and not extremely overweight. And I really like how she slims down over the course of the story (must take some extra care from the author). But those stories where the mc slims within 1-2 chapters all due to an herbal bath, potion or other shenannigans taking less than a day in story time.. meh, smh.

But in general, I think there's a need for more stories where the female lead may have a few extra kg on the hips working towards a wider acceptance of people with a not-so-perfect body.

Please don’t take this the wrong way, I’m genuinely curious. But does him having his past memories and experience have any effect on your view? Because in Chinese mythology, when we die and go to the underworld, we drink a soup of forgetfulness before we get reborn. What does the story become then if Art was simply reborn without any of his memories or experience? Does this make the romance a little better do you think? Or do you think that your take still applies whether or not he has his memories/experience? Or does this make the story into a completely different story?

Oh, I barely wrote it and there are so many down votes. I have 24 year old (half of Art mentally age in the story) and I couldn't bring myself to fall in love with a 13 year old even if my life depends of it. There is a big difference in mentality. Even if I reincarnated, I would still keep my memories and experience. So 13 year old would still look kids for me anyway.
I said that Art should not show interest in girls until the adult age (20 or so) because it sounded like obvious.

I agree with you. Sometimes it’s easy to get lost in the fantasy and forget about actual age of our characters. I know I never pay attention. But then you take a step back and realize it, it takes away the magic of the story a little. But from what I’ve seen so far, I would argue that Art isn’t necessarily interested in the girls around him like that just yet.

When he was 5/8 year old he said the others just look like kids to him. What changed now when they are still 13 year old? I think is a strange choice of the author starting things here when the story at this point don't even need romance.

That is indeed true too, for me I don’t think this story need any type of romance I mean not for art at least I see him as a teen and have all the time so I don’t think much of the romance stuff and more about the fighting etc yk, I think he knows he is reborn yk but what he did in his past life is starting to fade away like he knows that it exists just not much of it!

Sorry if I was rude, I think I can understand you a bit better now. But this is the big difference as the way we read this story, to me Art is more an adult than a teenager at this point.
There are a lot of 'second chances' stories I read, but even when they reborn as baby, they become adults at a fast pace or they already comeback/travel to a point when their body is of an adult. So both mind and body are in sync. I like omniscient reader..., trash son of the count's family, a returnee magic..., kill the hero, etc.
So this story situation when he still is a kid is not that normal to me to read (usually just in shoujo stories when the girl is daughter of someone important). Also, most of the MC I saw, despite make some wrong judgement here and them as any human sometimes (Cale and Desir can't stop to make their group worried with them), they still have conscience about who they truly are (adults with responsibilities) .

I'm sorry if I may sound rude to you and all and I don't think you're wrong at all but I've read this in a story somewhere that Art being reincarnated is both him being 13- 15 year old and 30+ years old. Yes, he has some memories of his past life when he was 30 and so but it doesn't matter right now, Art right now is a 13 - 15 year old , and no I'm not saying they should love each other and all but Art also hasn't even expressed feelings for Tess, obviously it's Tess who was bothered by it because she obviously likes Art. At a young age pf 18 below, things like puppy love and crushes can happen and it's normal and Art being a 13-15 year old right now despite of his past has that privilege ...

So yeah .... He maybe once 30 years old before and his memories of that time has GREATLY helped him get stronger but rn AT THE CURRENT PRESENT TIME He is also like Tess, a growing young boy ...

I'd like to say that there are two other reincarnated souls from Art's previous life, and I believe one of them is Tess. So just because she lost her memories of her past life does that make her a teenage girl again? What if she had remembered and Art had forgotten? I don't think his memories from his previous life determine his age. There are plenty of teenagers that are way too mature for their ages. He used his knowledge to help him advance, and the country advance, not to have a girlfriend. Plus I'd also like to point out that he never had any love affairs in his previous life. He focused on self improvement, so what is wrong with him taking his second life and doing with it what he didn't before, like fall in love? If you base his age on his previous life, then even his mother would be too young for him to have been born to her. After all he was like 50 when he died! Seriously I'd get it if this was a time regression, and he was the same person, but he's not. He's a totally different person in a totally different world. And technically Tess is actually older than Art age wise, so how is he the pedophile? I just don't see how those dots connect. The memories of his life are of good use to everything, but no for his age? Think slowly about it. Gaps like that are the things pedos love, so we can't let it be as normal things and need reflect about it.
His past is part of the person he is today. Even if we move to other country and start a new life with different people, this didn't mean our past is erased. He is still learning a lot about the world, but his use and remember his past memories now and then. Yes. Jackpot. Sometimes the romance part is a tiny part in the story and we just ignore the details. But there are a lot of second chance stories (you know reborn, trasmigrated, reincarnated, etc) when people with a lot of adults at a mind lvl flirt with 12-15 teenagers or have them as pair. This is worrisome because china, korea, japan (the origin trinity of most wb) are places with some Historical to fetish younger bodies (Japan just banned the possession of child pornography in 2014). The age of consent in Japan is 13, Korea was also 13, until 2020 when a wave of protesters made the government raise it to 16, based in the number of rapes happening to the under aged. It's cultural and they are still working on it. (My country is 14 and most would agree with 15 at least probably).
Thus, this fetish for younger body trasmigrated to wb too.
Maturity can not be explained by just age hence why there are responsible teenagers and crazy adults. I agree with this part. So there is no problem if the 'second chance' guy fall in love with other adult like him, no matter the age diffrence, if they both are mentally and physically adults, this is all good. But if it is an adult vs a under age situation (body or mind), It's creep and wrong.

But he's not an adult, and if she regains her past memories as a teenager does that still make her a new person? If so then you are saying 8the only reason Art is not a new person is because he remembers his past life. So if Tess remembers her past life that means she's not a new being? Where is your logic?

Also, your logic about him calling his parents his parents is off. They didn't adopt him SHE GAVE BIRTH TO HIM. How does that translate into being a member of a blended family. If he's not a new person then he would be the same person. Not a new born baby from another time planet and gene pool. Again not understanding your logic in this case either.

If you search other stories as MC with past life memories, you see all of them see themselves as adult. Even ARTHUR HIMSELF mentioned a couple of times about it (How he had to act as baby when he was not) and how he just saw other people around his age as kids (in other word he don't see himself as kid neither). And you tell me in YOUR OPINION that he is not, when the story until this point is all based in his maturity lvl and experiences of his past life that helped him.

And that is why I find strange the author introducing a romantic relationship at this point when they are still kids. It does not make sense. Pedo warning up for me.

His new life does not erase his past experiences and his past experiences is what made him an adult at mind lvl that the story showed to us a lot of times so far.


He is living a new life and learning new things, but his past is part of who he is today too. I can't close my eyes and see his experience is not life time, if he knows what he want do now, it's because he couldn't do before. If he has past regrets, it's because he lived before. He aged. And he is so at least old mentally.

I think it's rushed because a lot of the novel focuses on cales train of thought. Like how he sees the situation, how he thinks of tackling it. The children with average age of 7, comments and so on. While it was super fun reading it, I guess it will be hard to keep showing that in manga form.

But I definitely recommend anyone who loves this to go read the lightnovel. And there's so much plot, it's literally in the 600's chapter, so it will be a long time to patiently wait for the manga to catch up. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
