For a Harlequin, this is gold. It's really saved by the FL; she really knows how to stand her ground with everyone around her. She's not swayed easily and has an independent life separate from the ML. She has enough security to leave him, so when she chooses to be with him, even if he sucks (as they all do), it doesn't feel like a loss.

The age gap between the couple's is a persistent distraction throughout the entire story. It's not only that he's significantly older than her, but also that she's very young (17 when they first got involved, 21 in the present), and that he first met her when she was a toddler, which makes their relationship so uncomfortable. Honestly just gross.
I wasn't expecting such a brutal death scene in the middle of a copy-paste villainess story. Besides that, this is your typical, generic story, with a character that doesn't have to work hard to get what she wants.
