this is such a refreshing story compared to what manhwas ppl like to write and read these days
No mandatory rape scenes It's such a rare thing to find nowadays. I also hope it's not one of those stories where the moment the author drew/write a sex scene, they cant stop doing it as if it's drugs. Too many BLs fell to this plot for some reason. Men fucking is that good of a thing to draw. Makes your pussy throb
someone please recommend me similar storys to this masterpiece, i cant find anything that hasnt been disappointing unlike this
i didnt mean a thriller that is build around complex mind bending. with psychologically developed i meant that tpdmatgp focuses a lot on the characters mental states. it represents emotional struggles, trauma, spends a lot of time on showing their inner thoughts and involves communication, both their worldviews and is literally about two "broken" ppl becoming each others safe place when they have no one else, which is why it should be considered as psychologically developed rather than just a typical romance like any other. this one goes sm deeper than that
I mean yeah this manhwa is Def more deep than typical romance but if u think about it it's not that deep suppose llewellyns candlelit dinner it's such an amazing manhwa and what I would call a truly psychological manhwa but unsleep is not I mean different people have different options so idc but unsleep is just another green flag manhwa which contains some deep meaning but you cannot call it a psychologically developed and no I'm not denying that it's not good it Is good just not enough to be called a psychological manhwa the art smut storyline and even many other concepts are top tier and there were a many aspects I related as a reader it's truly awesome but I'm sorry to say it's not THAT deep
you re simply not getting what i mean by psychologically developed (also i was talking about tpdmatgp hope you didnt confuse that i was referring to unsleep) you re using the term "psychological" to describe moral dilemmas, suspense, heavy psychological mind games in general, like the manga monster for example, which i would describe as a psychological thriller, which it also is but tpdmatgp is a psychologically developed piece, tho you couldnt call it a psychological thriller. it is a character driven psychological drama, that does go deep emotionally, rather than a psychological thriller like murderous lewellyns candlelit dinner. both are peak but theres a difference
got dissapointed with this shit so many times not even worth reading the new chaps anymore, most of jinx fans dont even know the creators og masterpiece now shes ruined her whole reputation with this bullshit
I'd actually this is right on par with BJ Alex. It's simply a longer version of it with characters who came into the story more fucked up from life than the characters of BJ Alex and are having a proportionally equally long chase and redemption arch to fit that.
I don't think the author's reputation is ruined because of this, they're writing very thought out characters and a very realistic relationship between two very traumatized and flawed individuals. The relationship between the characters was extremely toxic in the beginning and completely built upon misunderstandings. This entire season has been about unraveling those misunderstandings and their traumas together. Beginning to heal from them and over come them, and it's taking a lot and a while to do, as it should.
They're still not communicating well, and there are still misunderstandings and trauma responses happening, but they are both slowly learning to be vulnerable with each other. Once they can realize their own feelings properly, and once they take that leap to trust each other, then the communication will come naturally and they can finally begin to heal the wounds that were cause not only during the relationship, but from their lives before. That is when a relationship can happen and when they can work towards true happiness.
No, the author is putting in a lot more work into their characters, their relationships, and personal journeys than almost any other author out there. This story just starts out worse because the characters are more unstable than the ones in BJ Alex, but because of that their journey is also longer and harder than the one in BJ Alex.
I half agree that it's very similar to bj alex cuz both of these manhwas, to put it shortly, are mainly about sex. yet they both lack intimacy as their whole relationships are build on it, in bj alex as well as in jinx. the mc in bj alex just had the choice to choose which dan didnt get to make. on top of that he never had to deal with unnecessary abuse just being alone in the same room with the ml (if im remembering correctly) which you cant say about dan, he not only had to survive in bed but also his daily time just speaking to the ml.
jk was always hateful for no reason at all, now the creator is tryinf to excuse his childish and abusive behaviour with him being poor and alone in his childhood. ofc that leaves someone with scars but why the fuck should that be a reason to explain his predatory way of viewing dan, sexual/romantic relationships in general? you said flawed individuals and that their relationship was toxic, built upon misunderstandings but there barley were any. till now i cant see any flaws in kim dan and all the toxicity you mentioned came from jk only.
the funniest thing is that his whole persona suddenly just changed into a new one and after seeing dan hurt, not only psychologically but also physically, so many times because of him, he just out of nowhere feels bad? now that dan has reached his lowest, cuz of him? if you think jinx can still be saved, you genuinely have to reread it and remind yourself of how they even got to this point at which they are rn. real forgiveness could only be felt from dan if first of all jk would create some conclusions in that airless brain of his and realize what he has truly done, find at least a reason cuz still, he did it all just cuz he wanted to, then see dan as a whole and never touch him in a sexual way ever again (less detailed way i could explain)
that end could be the only acceptable one.
theres a whole mess and whole lotta more bs i could mention but i also need to say, dans coping mechanism (starting to like jk instead of hating him), he litearlly "fell in love" with jk after and while all the abuse jk did and was doing to him, which can only be called stockholm syndrome. it led jk in the complete wrong direction as also himself. would dan start despiting him, jk would have never start thinking and feeling differently in the fisrt place (wouldnt make anything better even if he did) even tho as i said he still doesnt had a reason to do what he did and no reason to just suddenly switch and empathize with dan the way he never did before. ppl dont just start seeing new perspectives one day as he did which makes jk even more unrealistic. no experience he had that could be able to change his way of thinking the way he suddenly changed. well, but still, how can one undo such things hes done? one cant even in fiction

i can understand why it feels justiciable for a character like the ml of master peace to rape someone due to his sexual trauma and it being viewed as him coping by doing what was done to him. still he did it to an innocent person and it doesnt look like he will feel bad about it anytime soon if ever. it also would be much more realistic if the author would keep mls machoistic coping mechanism as it is seen in almost every rape victim which would also turn out of him having a good personality not a vindictive one but i have to admit thats ofc not a wrong representation either, just the fact that the author is using it as a reason for him to be intimate and have sex (forced sex=rape) with the mc who is/will be his "love" intrest is absolutely wrong.
I totally get where you’re coming from, I can see how his trauma seems like an excuse for the fact he raped the other guy. But I don’t think the manhwa is trying to justify his actions at all, I think quite the opposite. We see two both very complicated characters, doing and behaving in ways that are both unacceptable. For the rapists case, he had experienced something beyond traumatic during the most crucial part of his years. I can’t imagine how that begins to fuck someone’s head up. His need for sex and abuse probably stems from that, and him raping the other guy is probably how he’s viewed sex since this is all that he’s experienced. Not an excuse for his actions at all, since he’s still a grown man that should know better. But it is an explanation for his actions, albeit not enough to reason them. I think this manhwa is reflecting a side we don’t usually see in victims - that it’s extremely difficult to heal from the trauma - and that trauma can represent itself in disturbing ways - and often they’re left deeply scarred
yes i agree. my issue isnt that the scene has been written, i want to point out how the author, like in almost every manhwa where usually the uke gets assulted, romantizes it and will most likely still try to frame their relationship as romantic and healthy afterward, which should not be a standard "romantic" dynamic (seme raping for whatever reason or none at all and the uke "forgiving" due to developing stockholm syndrome that is) if the author is aware they cant possibly turn them into a couple and wont force an ending like that, its still wrong how ppl view them as one after that kind of violence an d betrayal which fundamentally damaged the relationship. then ofc the victim having stockholm syndrome that is treated as "forgiveness" or "love" isnt real healing either, its just skipping over the consequences and outcomes the abuse has done (as we know stockholm is also a mental disorder) that trope is getting so old, it just undermines the seriousness of what happened
You’re forgetting something: Incheol could stop him he could hit him or push him away Incheol is strong, bigger, and an adult, which makes the situation more complicated is Incheol feels trapped and thinks this is the only way, so he keeps going even while hesitating. And it’s not just Pyeong-hwa doing wrong, he had already told Incheon not to come back, yet he returned anyway (︶︿︶)
nah im not forgetting anything. first of all ppl often tend to not physically resist due to their stress response even when they technically could. you re forgetting how pyeong hwa also took advantage of the situation when the group of men appeared, he initiated it while they were nearby and was aware incheol wouldnt risk escalating the situation and getting caught with him. still the absence of physical resistance doesnt automatically equal consent.
also incheol returning cuz he was emotionally conflicted and simply worried doesnt imply consent to anything either, how can he be responsible for what pyeong hwa did to him by just returning out of concer after being told not to? pyeong hwa took advantage of his sympathy as well
First of all, this story clearly isn’t meant for minors.
The entire first season has been anything but romantic. Not every story has to be a perfect, utopian relationship.
The core of this story is emotional and physical conflict. It’s about guilt, self-destruction, and characters making terrible decisions because of their circumstances and inner struggles.
Reducing it to “just rape” or trying to romanticize what is happening completely misses the point. The narrative is showing how broken the situation and the characters are, not celebrating it.
I really hope this doesn’t turn into a romance
exactly so we agree. clearly mostly minors are reading it, so many ppl interpret good written pieces like this one (for now) SO wrong and romanticize the shi out of the characters and their complex relationship with each other. this truly cant turn into a romance◞‸◟
I think this is a very black and white view of Incheol's rape and Pyeonhwa's assault. Pyeonhwa's trauma doesn't act as an excuse of the rape, rather an explanation; We see various power play dynamics between the two of them from the jump even. Pyeonghwa's small head bow in the car when Incheol got him from the hospital, almost making a mockery respect. Pyeonghwa putting a condom on Incheol during the rape scene; another mockery seeing as Incheol wasn't the one who needed the condom but rather Pyeonghwa. All of those scenes just show Pyeonghwa take an almost dominant hand in their dynamic by force, by small acts. In the center of it all you also have Incheol, a man who serves as a slave to the system.
I don't think - with all these complex characters that rarely go off script - that this manhwa will follow the regular yaoi script. The author is a person heavily inspired by films and you can see this by looking at Pyeonghwa, who is heavily inspired by the character Neil Mccormick from Mysterious skin. Neil is a little shit bag of a boy and he acts the way he does because of the sexual assault he suffered through as a child from an adult he trusted - just like Pyeonghwa. Even the song we see him listen to, Stockholm Syndrome by Muse, is a point of character reflection. Anyway, If you parallel these two characters and we assume that the author has a good head on their shoulders and will continue their streak of not following the average yaoi trope script, what Pyeonghwa did to Incheol will become a driving plot device (and I lowk think season two will give us a lot of dialogue that will bounce back to it seeing as Incheol tells Pyeonghwa it's uncomfortable to be around him) and it'll either happen again (under more errrr, iffy consent deals as a means to something) or it will never happen again. But these two will most probably never get together as a locked in, healthy couple - or a couple at all. If they do I'll shoot myself
Please don't shoot yourself haha
I'm hopping to this mature manhwa the same, and expect
this relationship (I'm not meaning romantic relationship) to become maybe more fucked up in terms of incheol feeling more involve with pyeong as result of guilty.
And from pyeong I'm expecting him to edging more into a possible death something more dangerous could happened
In the middle they can find some kind of "safe space to just be as fucked as they are feeling everything for once" but not in the romantic way you know ? Something more nsjfjancjs (dark)
The dynamic of incheol bring almost the dog of that politician and pyeong being the one who "dominate" is pretty clear in details you are so right
And exactly this is not for kids this is not just a BL
This has well done characters and well done context like a serious movie
Not just your typical Manhwa
Maybe one of them dies
