So, she waited inside the annex, but she didn't lit up any fire. It was cold. It was dark. She just sat there in silence, patiently waiting for him to come around.
When Matthias came home, seeing her in that state, his heart clenched for reasons he couldn't explain himself. All he knew that his lover, who was supposed to be receiving all the favors from a duke like him, was here in the cold, all alone—hiding herself because she was merely a mistress.

I've read the novel many times, and I actually stopped reading the manhwa because the art completely changed, but then I came across their Tiktok edits, and Chapter 89 just made me feel like Matthias truly deserved to suffer longer than he should be.
