FUCK!! I regret not reading the novel first I see the potential but the manhwa is so fucking rushed that it spoiled it for me!! And the art is a bit like those creepy toxic BLs which I donāt like BUT the story is quite good. I just hate that I read the manhwa first!!
For some reason everything about this story pisses me offā¦the art is godly but the faces and expressions are derpy at the same time, theyāre supposedly bonded but feel like less than strangers, like theyāre being forced to get along, even in their moments of chemistry, theyāre like blocks of ice. The manager is so indecisive yet he knows what he wants, there is an arrogance to his apathy which I really dislikeā¦like I think this story had potential to be one of the greats if both main characters had a different personality. Like the Seme has carried his unrequited feelings for so long that his feelings are way too intense for this level of interaction or relationship and the managerās feelings are too shallow for what the story claims he feelsā¦overall I just think this story is about the author trying to write smut while giving it a random storyline and itās a shame because I see the vision but it is too shallow to really move me or get me invested. Like even this first sex sceneā¦what is this timing?! What the fuck was that dialogue progression?? Why are they so annoying till the end??
Like imagine if their first kiss was really intense, maybe full of anger and resentment from Jaegyeom but turning into longing and thatās how the manager realised how much he was liked by that boy since all those years agoā¦like show donāt TELL. This story has been blah blah blah only, but it should be showing us. Too much dialogue and unnecessary scenesā¦we have seen more chemistry with that actor and manager than with our lead.
We needed a damn confession, a heart wrenching angst filled one, a passionate kiss, TENSION, longing!! Before this sex scene happened. So it could be the payoff we deserved.
And what we got was āur an omega, join this competition, no, join the olympics in, no, do this, no, sign this contract and have sex with meā ughā¦
Also these two speak 2 different languages and have no common ground. Itās really frustrating! I feel sad.

I love the art but it doesnāt compare to the novel one bit. It sterilises it especially Taehee since heās such a complex and deep character with too many layers and feelingly
Would REALLY implore everyone to read the novel, itās one of my favourite pieces of literature and the angst is soul crushing
I really like this novel and everything but even so after I read the novel I did not reassaally like the way their romance was developed after this pointā¦like it didnāt feel as cathartic as I had expected maybe or just the fact that transition from this Hyung and Dongsaeng dynamics wasnāt the best execution like we see Sayongās feelings from a young age but for J, it felt like he fell for him because the plot called for it. I donāt know how to explain it but even their first kiss was so random and misplaced in the story that I was like this isnāt the placeā¦orā¦timeā¦so it all felt disjointed from then on. But itās fine. They address this conundrum J faces of being romantically attracted or even accepting Sayong THAT wayā¦itās rough but I hope to read it again from where I leftā¦I keep getting the ick and dropping it for some reason from that point onā¦

If I were the boy, Iād throw up if I found someone I had been relying on and opening up to about the most traumatic thing that ever happened to me was inadvertently the cause of the same trauma for other kids. Also I canāt get used to the boy sounding so āadultā all of a sudden. Like the way he expressed his thoughts is so different from first half of the storyā¦it is a bit jarring. Ok so I caught up finally and have a lot of thoughts on the characters so far:
The one thing Iām keeping in mind is that theyāre both kids so theyāll make mistakes and learn from themā¦if we take Jimin for instance who is less mature than Gijung, who doesnāt know saying āsorryā is the way to make up with a friend for saying hurtful things and he acknowledges he is selfish but doesnāt work on working on that at all even if he hates being like that..is so teenager like.
Some people are like thatā¦theyāve been by themselves so long that when they default back to being alone, they feel more in control of their life. He has an abnormal level of detachment though (itās not because he doesnāt want to have friends but because he doesnāt know how to be one)
He centres himself in every relationship and expects other people to make the decision to be his friend or notā¦leaving the agency to someone else giving off the feeling that he does not want to be anyoneās friend to begin with and doesnāt value them as a person and inevitably makes them feel like a fool for tryingā¦
IRL such people are quite troublesome to befriend even if theyāre nice people because at the end of the day friendship has to be mutually reciprocal in both interest and effort to mean somethingā¦
And friendship also means standing up for your friends even if itās inconvenient or embarrassing..
Gijung showed him himself completely..even the most vulnerable and embarrassing parts of his life so heād see him for who he is..but still Jimin did not have the courage to defend him when the teacher was badmouthing him (granted it wouldāve made things worse but stillā¦)
He is not a selfish character, but he is quite self-centred where he thinks only his problems are the issues that matter, he is self-loathing but not enough to change that..he has expectations for others to follow his words vut doesnāt consider other peopleās feelings or emotions at all..
So that does make him a bit hypocritical and annoying but heād a childā¦so Iām keeping that in mind.
Gijung is more mature and forgiving because of the environment heās brought up in and the way heās more attached to Jimin than vice versa so heās bound to give in to him and his expectations more..
He doesnāt communicate too well his own heart and mind (granted that growing up in that house u wouldnāt even know how to do that) but heās also a kid trying to do his best..
Heās really really honest and matureā¦and a good influence on Jimin honestly because he makes him self-reflect a lot on his words and personality..
Gijung would always end up being the one who carries the most burdens in their relationship even when they get together for a long time because thatās how how their dynamic is..
But itās all good. What I like about Jimin is that heās easygoing when he has to be and learns from his mistakes quickly even if he doesnāt act on them right away..
Heās a kid so hopefully as he grows older, heāll be more honest and considerate of the people around him and not just hinselfā¦

I really wanna see him lose his mind seeing satomi hurt because of his yakuza background at least once

Itās a bit predictable and cliched but i canāt decide if I like this dynamic more than the dynamic of bodyguard being the seme (especially when they establish that heās obviously weaker than the seme who will end up Protecting him Iām sure throughout the series) idk, the art is bangingā¦but surprisingly I donāt like the semeās character design. itās like a twink not twinkified not a seme. Their first interaction is also too cliched like Iāve see this movie before a hundred timesā¦ugh, nvm. Maybe Iām not in the mental space to read another story like this.
