All this opening up to a guy who has done the same trauma to who knows how many kids like him…
If I were the boy, I’d throw up if I found someone I had been relying on and opening up to about the most traumatic thing that ever happened to me was inadvertently the cause of the same trauma for other kids. I adore Tera but honestly this isn’t as wholesome as the vibe is trying to be…it’s just uncomfortable.
Also I can’t get used to the boy sounding so „adult“ all of a sudden. Like the way he expressed his thoughts is so different from first half of the story…it is a bit jarring. But the premise itself is quite tragic in every way. I like them together but I don’t want them to end up together. Unpopular opinion I know.
It’s like he knows he’s the MC and has plot armour in guessing kijoong will come there anyway since that friend who warned him will text or call him or something and he’ll be mad at him. Otherwise there’s no sense of this shit happening.
Otherwise that’s his plan and he wants Kijoong to feel guilt and comeback - which is fucked up.
He should’ve just peeked inside and see if he was there and then ran off - like why go there in like u own the place with no backup plan ? He‘s fucking dumb I hate when characters are written to force sympathy out of the readers like no, even if he gets beat up now I’ll be like „ofc u did u dummy“
Ok so I caught up finally and have a lot of thoughts on the characters so far:
The one thing I’m keeping in mind is that they’re both kids so they’ll make mistakes and learn from them…if we take Jimin for instance who is less mature than Gijung, who doesn’t know saying „sorry“ is the way to make up with a friend for saying hurtful things and he acknowledges he is selfish but doesn’t work on working on that at all even if he hates being like that..is so teenager like.
Some people are like that…they’ve been by themselves so long that when they default back to being alone, they feel more in control of their life. He has an abnormal level of detachment though (it’s not because he doesn’t want to have friends but because he doesn’t know how to be one)
He centres himself in every relationship and expects other people to make the decision to be his friend or not…leaving the agency to someone else giving off the feeling that he does not want to be anyone’s friend to begin with and doesn’t value them as a person and inevitably makes them feel like a fool for trying…
IRL such people are quite troublesome to befriend even if they’re nice people because at the end of the day friendship has to be mutually reciprocal in both interest and effort to mean something…
And friendship also means standing up for your friends even if it’s inconvenient or embarrassing..
Gijung showed him himself completely..even the most vulnerable and embarrassing parts of his life so he’d see him for who he is..but still Jimin did not have the courage to defend him when the teacher was badmouthing him (granted it would’ve made things worse but still…)
He is not a selfish character, but he is quite self-centred where he thinks only his problems are the issues that matter, he is self-loathing but not enough to change that..he has expectations for others to follow his words vut doesn’t consider other people‘s feelings or emotions at all..
So that does make him a bit hypocritical and annoying but he’d a child…so I’m keeping that in mind.
Gijung is more mature and forgiving because of the environment he’s brought up in and the way he’s more attached to Jimin than vice versa so he’s bound to give in to him and his expectations more..
He doesn’t communicate too well his own heart and mind (granted that growing up in that house u wouldn’t even know how to do that) but he’s also a kid trying to do his best..
He’s really really honest and mature…and a good influence on Jimin honestly because he makes him self-reflect a lot on his words and personality..
Gijung would always end up being the one who carries the most burdens in their relationship even when they get together for a long time because that’s how how their dynamic is..
But it’s all good. What I like about Jimin is that he’s easygoing when he has to be and learns from his mistakes quickly even if he doesn’t act on them right away..
He’s a kid so hopefully as he grows older, he’ll be more honest and considerate of the people around him and not just hinself…

Literally makes me bawl my fucking eyes out
