No, baby boy that's calculation and maneuvering.
Ml realized mc is a human tuning-fork when it comes to anything artistic.
Never picks a loser, naturally gravitates towards the pieces that will or have become best sellers.
Ml is playing the long game.
Trying to keep his emotions out of it but they keep rearing up.
He's believed from the beginning that the mc is deliberately hiding his O-gender.
Outright accused him of playing the sexual innocent to seduce men.
So after seeing the raws up to chapter 50 (the link for raws is in my topic WICKED LAUGHTER look it up)
Baby-boy says "I love you " during sex.
Shocks ml.
But ml tells him that saying it during sex doesn't mean anything, that if mc wanted to confess wait and do it sober.
But he wasn't nice about how he said it, ( so ml got what he deserved in my opinion)
Next morning ml gets up, cooks breakfast surprising mc and waits all morning for mc to confess again and steadily gets irritated when it doesn't happen
Mc floating on clouds feeling really good when he gets to class only to found out somebody spread a notice online about how a 'certain student was getting special treatment "
Gio knows exactly what he's doing.
He knows it isn't ethical or moral or right, going to do it anyhow.
I'm not in agreement with everything Gio does to mc.
He never believed in emotional love, thought his dad was a fool for losing his mind over a woman (his mother) he's had sex with women since he was a teenager but to Gio it was just an-itch-to-be-scratched thing.
Never kissed the women, didn't care if they enjoyed the sex.
Then the mc walks in and for the first time he was gobsmacked. He knows how the mc sees him, doesn't care.
He believes that if he let's the mc say whatever he wants, do whatever he wants, spend whatever he wants then he can avoid his dad's situation.
He never thought the mc would love him but he believed in time as long as mc gave in, he would see the benefits of being with Gio.
(I read the novel when it was available, not anymore)
I personally hope that ml mother finally finds out that he found his 'rainwater', learns how he is treating mc and slaps the taste out of his mouth and maybe seeing his mother disappointed will start a slow turnaround.
I don't think this is going to have too much of a redemption arc.
(No replies I don't read them)

I like that detail.
Ml said the toy puppy was a gift and when they fell, mc didn't let it drop.
That was sweet.
