I mean blame the culture not the author. 30 is considered old to still be single in Korea. And let's not act like it wasn't the case in western cultures 50 years ago.

it’s not old in korea either lmao, i hope you realize she was getting shamed for her age by her own HUSBAND. ur weird to assumel a lot of things, but it being the case 50 years ago isn’t an excuse, in korea it’s perfectly normal to be single at 30 and over

In 2020, the rate of unmarried 30yr old crossed the 40% for the first time in Korea. While it was 10%~ in early 2000s. So yeah it IS cultural even if it's currently changing. I never said it was an excuse. Just that acting like this is medieval behaviour and surprisingly shocking is a bit over dramatic. And saying that it was the case in western cultures means that even people with a different background from the author should be able to understand the POV of Mincheol (and Nahaeso's) thinking it's too late for her to find someone else. Understanding doesn't mean you agree with it.

the stats you pulled only support my claim not yours btw. you’re actually kind of dumb but it’s okay!

Can't you see that 2020 is just yesterday?! It's still very recent. Increasing by 4 times the 30year-old-unmarried rate in just 20 years is so fast, decades-old stigma don't just disappear like that. Ex: it's very common nowadays to come out LGBT+ and yet ppl are still stigmatized. So I don't get how the stats contradict my point?

My point is just that Mincheol and Nahaeso could 100% exist in 2026 Korea and it would not be difficult to find people with their mindset. It's not "just" the author being weird. (Also there's literally a birth crisis rn, so yeah less women are getting married but that doesn't mean movements like 4B are not getting hated on).
