I would say my favs are The Tale of the yellow dragons by bwat (sooooo good I cry EVERY SINGLE TIME) also Dawn of the dragon, The Sacred serpent's seduction, Cold -blooded beast, Shinigami wa korosenai (this are the ones a remember now)

I think the reason so many of us indulge in BL so much is the desire for love to exist (for us and others!) but Iâm super curious about the specifics for you guys! An easy example is isekai as escapism lol
* virginXvirgin- i like perfectionism. i like the idea of "first and last", the "only" love forever types. its my fav trope.
i like BLs i like seeing men falling in love with men, it's kinda high stakes in a somewhat misogynist society? like, i like the "equal"ness of it.
* buff handsome "masculine" personality bottoms x pretty
lean "feminine" personality tops (in BLs, in GLs as well. i like sub butches as bottoms and dom femmes as tops) something abt defying the stereotypical gender binary notion and flipping the script 180 degrees.
* i love when the characters are obsessive jealous possessive and not really healthy you know? clingy, seperation anxiety codependency ALL THAT. yearning behaviour mutual pining from both sides.

I love historical BLs cus I love plot over anything else. They usually have a lot of chapters too. Fantasy stories with dungeons and hunters are good too if done right

This isn't a deep trope, but switch couples or the top deciding to bottom atleast once. I think it's so hot when the top bottoms without making a deal of it/ a top who doesn't give a fuck about sex positions and actually follows through on bottoming. Tops like that are so cool.
There's something really mentally satisfying for me to read those stories. I guess it's cuz I don't like seeing one party be completely physically submissive (no matter how dominant their personality is). I need the couple to be equal in all ways possible - physical and mental.

-- Hurt/Comfort & Angst w/ a Happy Ending - I love whump, I love angst, I love it when a story makes me cry for the characters' pain; but at the same time, the world is sad enough already so I *need* them to have a happy ending. I'm an emotional masochist for it, I'm 100% aware of that. I'm also a romantic at heart, what can I say.
-- A/B/O or Biokink (D/s verse) - the worldbuilding that tends to go into these universes is just fascinating to me. These tropes are like giant sandboxes - there's so many possibilities, and the unique aspects of that kind of universe can impact the plot--- Aaa, I just love it so much. Honestly not sure what this one says about me lmao
-- Freak 4 Freak - when they're both a bit too uhhhh... eccentric (read: batshit obsessed). Like is it healthy? Hell no, but at least the crazy is mutual! Not willing to look into what that might say about me lmfao

Ugh Idk how to call this but like-- suffering in silence? When the character is wounded - either physically or emotionally - but they're concealing it and smiling through the pain. Bonus points if it's friends and/or the love interest that's unknowingly being cruel / making things worse.
