tbh i dont feel like this was a good place to end the season. it only confirmed what many readers already strongly suspected. and keeps randomly dangling the MLs traumatized behavior that is clearly from grooming. i don’t dislike the story at all and i’m still looking forward to how the author wants to continue, but it doesn’t really feel like a cliffhanger since there’s no clarity atp over what the MC is planning to do. going into this half-cocked is a very bad idea but i suppose i’m along for the ride
for people who are confused, the imagery from last episode depicts a series of symbols that are associated with omegaverse genders. that coupled with visible pheromones does strongly suggest this is an ABO, but it’s possible that is just inspiration. especially since we have only seen the ML behave a certain way sexually, and it has not indicated if that was a heat cycle, trauma, or both.
further, the child we saw in church that was picking new members is suggested to be MLs child, and we now have confirmation that the other parent is whatever current rapist we are seeing. it’s been too long so i can’t remember if he appeared sooner than the kidnapping about 5+ episodes back, but he was a superior in the army during mandatory military service.

if anyone has the Korean raws for this chapter from ridibooks please lmk. it won’t change my overall thoughts regarding this story (negative) however, some have claimed there are mistranslations with how the ML talks about himself and what he says. i’m curious to compare the manta version to the original text
it’s dark material and yet i can’t help but find myself absolutely geeked over the inspiration for imagery here. there’s so much happening. it seems to pull from the book of revelation (?), mirroring structure (in number) for the ten commandments, and even though it’s hinting at ABO, the aspects being on a hebrew scroll makes me wonder if kabbalah had any influence here as well.
or i suppose that could just be the tendency in fiction to use symbols from judaism, or hebrew letters to imply a level of mysticism or magic regardless, the world building here is excellent so far
this is so fascinating to read and i’m intrigued by how the author is choosing to approach it. religious cults are a HUGE issue here in Korea, so i’m always curious when it’s explored in fictional media. it creates a compelling narrative that acceptance is not the main flaw of certain organized religions
compared to how SA is typically depicted in BL this was actually relatively tame. i say this because, yes, we understand dub con and non con were themes early on. AND, the way that the flashback is depicting sexual encounters does not seem as though it is intended to aroused or titillate. we have clear examples between the leads in the present time of how the author draws things when it’s supposed to be erotic. these flashbacks very clearly show the perpetrator as the focus and how it’s impacting the victim. all to say would i describe it as “tasteful”? no we could always be less graphic, but it’s a graphic story.
you have this horrible generational cycle of hatred. letina’s father allows evan’s cherished younger brother, that he saw as a son, die. he resents letina and enoch in turn for it. genas falls for letina and views enoch as a son. iliad decides to kill everyone who threatens her legitimacy, so genas leads an insurrection. he sacrifices himself to a horrid woman for the protection of her power, all for his little brother. then we have the mess with the deposed princess and juliet’s older brother who also views her as a daughter. misplaced hatred begets misplaced hatred and this is why the curse was alive and well.

i get that enoch didnt mention the border conflict since his life COULD be at risk, but call me crazy for not thinking that’s the same as knowing with absolute certainty youre going to die. juliet is holding enoch to an expectation of disclosure she does not hold herself to and i’m sick of them all beint dumb this better have a happy ending or so help me god
lmao it’s so funny to me that the author wanted a steamy scene of them doing it raw in the car with no warning up first. especially when them becoming more intimate was dragged out for so long specifically because of MC feeling so much pain
i’m not sure i trust this lesser god who wants Mugo to reach nirvana. and i suspect that it’s to eradicate Mugo. if the personalities were created because the original Lee Muheon fractured mentally, then removing the lingering human soul would either a) destroy his person entirely or b) remove the multiple personalities and twist them into something else. either way, i don’t think this is to Ja Heon(?)’s benefit
