Don’t worry, it’s not an open ending at all ML wakes up from his coma and reunites with FL, they do meet again. The story keeps going with them living as an ordinary couple and raising their daughter until she’s a teenager.
The ending is actually super cute.. the final panel shows ML and FL taking their purple-haired daughter to school from the place they’re living. She seems to move around here and there, having fun with life like she has a whole village of parents raising her
So no tragic open ending, it’s basically “survived the angst, entered wholesome family era” lol.
