In his offense they found a uniform there and he always sees him playing with chaejun but when he asked chaejun he was throwing a tantrum and even cried over the night. So im gonna asked you, if your nephew or niece got stuck in a storage area that you know your niece or nephew never gone to for a whole day without food and seen unconscious, there was a uniform of an unknown kid what would you do?
Probably assume it was an accident based on everything that was going on at the site? Kids will be kids, playing around and getting into stuff they shouldn’t be. Chaejun already brought up wanting to do taekwondo with his friend, so his friend could’ve given him a uniform ahead of time. Kids do weird stuff and I get that Chaejun’s uncle thought that maybe Seung-hyun wasn’t a good kid. But I think the more likely scenario is that the job site was in chaos due to the accident and Chaejun got caught up. Not that some kid took advantage of that chaos to bully Chaejun and lock him up.
It's nice that you have a very wide view in life and a good surroundings. You probably never got bullied that hard, which is good i am happy for you. I am sure he was thinking that way as well, but a sole guardian of a kid of his sister, how can he let his nephew be hurt right? That's why he was blaming himself as well, if you read on chapters way back he had it in his mind that arm with tattoo is what hurt chaejun. He knows that. And as an uncle, he know his nephew differently, more likely biased. If you say that to him he will probably gonna say "my nephew won't go anywhere, he was a nice kid, he follows what i said blah blah he was probably lure by that kid to get inside and either he left him there be trap or locked him up. It's his fault, he knew better."
He knew that kid was playing with his nephew every day, so he thought that, "hmm maybe because i wasn't around he locked him up?" "Hmmm maybe he left him there that got him locked!" "Hmm, maybe he is the one who taught my nephew to go there that's why he got locked."
And you probably gonna say, "but to carried that for years?" He wasnt, he was just afraid that when his nephew's memories recovered they might hurt each other . Chaejun be hurt by his "painful" memories and seunghyun be hurt by chaejun's action. You know? Adult stuff.
You see i think he like seunghyun but he was afraid that his nephew will be hurt and felt betrayed when his memories came back.
Will start by saying that otherwise this is a pretty entertaining read. It would’ve been a 4/5 otherwise but without clarification on this I can’t give it higher than a 3.
How long was Sooyeon actually left waiting for Honam? Weeks? Months? The timeline is left unclear. If Sooyeon cracked and gave in to Dajun after only like six weeks, that’s a problem. But if the lack of contact, secrecy and lies was ongoing for six months? I can see and understand why Sooyeon broke down. I’m not condoning what he did, but he must’ve felt so lonely and it’s not like he could’ve ended things with Honam anyway since he couldn’t even reach him. But having the knowledge that he waited for so long to be met with nothing would make it forgivable imo. The relationship was basically over by then, maybe not in Honam’s eyes but in Dajun’s.
Also (and this is an even bigger spoiler), I’m glad that Honam’s memories didn’t come back. It would’ve made things so much harder for everyone. I appreciate his honesty that he regrets becoming human though, even if it’s far too late.
