I mean if you think about it... from Kangjoon's perspective, Yoonseul seems to be someone who cares about his image. I mean he went as far as approaching him just to look nice in front of someone who had seen his bad side. So in Kangjoon's mind, there's a possibility that Yoonseul was trying to appease his friends by making bets.
But he's not. Yoonseul doesn't cozy up to people, he just prefer to live peacefully and not make a big deal out of everything. Yoonseul couldn't care less about what other people think of him. So in Yoonseul's perspective, it would be offensive for him to be misunderstood like that.
I'd just don't give a f***. I mean in this scenario i'd just settle with an apology but instead of "it's all good now" or "we're friends again", I'd say "i dont wanna be anywhere near you because then you'd always fall by yourself and say it's me. So I'll just stay away and wont make effort to be close to you. The next time we have problems, that'd be because you're looking for trouble, not me" then casually walk out... or maybe run out before the mother can stop me. I'd also find and make an alliance with a trustworthy servant or commoner, take some clothes and jewellery and leave the house to live with the commoner. Since they all think it's better 'I' dont exist anyway, why bother? (〜￣△￣)〜

There are some changes from the novel. Not much on the plot but more on the character. Magnus in the novel was a man. At the ball, he wanted to invest in FL's business with 7-3 profit division. FL rejected him and when he grabbed her hand trying to stop her from leaving, a bunch of ladies surrounded them and FL said she rejected Magnus' invitation to dance. Magnus was cornered by the ladies who were upset that he tried to force a lady.
Magnus accused FL for being rude and brought up about her being dumped by the Duke. The Duke joined in right after and clarified that he was the one who got dumped. Like the manhwa, everyone only trusted when the Duke spoke himself but wouldn't believe her, so she got upset.
In the novel it made more sense that she got angry, because she wasnt really in a difficult position since the ladies helped her, but ML's interruption only made her look pathetic. Here, her anger felt more like a tantrum since he did technically save her from the nobles.
No wonder, actually its a bit strange, like smth is missing and the plot is mmmm （￣へ￣）
