why are y'all surprised that an evil asshole exists in this story? the author literally wrote caesar who shot leewon, abducted him, then him. i just hope nothing like that happens between chase and joshua. can someone who read the novel spoil this info pls?
this should definitely be on your re-read list if you love stories that make your heart feel full
That gang r*pe scene was completely unnecessary idk what the whole point of that is. Tell me how a grandfather who is concerned about his family's legacy and image orchestrated the whole thing? It makes zero sense. The top is so uninteresting. I feel bad for the bottom, like what are the other grownups around him doing just letting him go through all that. I would have murd3red everybody on sight.
he's constantly making scenarios in his head. and then when he lands on a scenario that he doesn't like, he avoids dohyun. but it doesn't last long, not even one chapter. after that he clings to him, crosses the line, and then pity party. dohyun isn't that much better, i liked him more in omega complex. maybe i just don't like kids or characters who act like kids. i'm too old for this.
...but I really fw this story idc. I love the relationship between the MC and the ML and whatever they lack in their communication skills they make up for with their chemistry. And the secretary pining for the MC is also so good, but I think he's going to be coupled with that dude who tried to drug the MC.
I feel like the premise of MC being stuck in high school is totally irrelevant to the plot except to fetishize a man who looks like a minor. A lot of the smut scenes happen when MC is wearing a high school uniform, oversized clothes or his grandmother's floral clothes to highlight this. That seriously gave me the ick. You can still establish all the negative things that happened to the MC even without all that. The author could have even set the story during a year where he's already graduated high school but can't go to college due to his father's debts. It will literally have no impact to the story except it will get rid of all the questionable smut.

It's the part when the guild returned from the US after finishing the SS Dungeon. Hyoseop just left without a proper conversation. After making a big deal about just wanting the espers to be safe and having faith in Andante despite Yoo-jin's efforts, he just up and left. And then from there, shit stopped making sense. It was such a waste. This was going to be a 5-star, must-re-read story for me, but it dropped to 3 stars only. I HATE when the bottom suddenly becomes stupid and refuses to listen to common sense to "spice things up". It's like the author doesn't trust the plot and the characters they created.
I'm so upset that I had to finish this so I'm gonna rant a bit.
This was trauma porn and nothing else. I had to abandon this at chapter 67. I only forced myself to finish it today because I already wasted time reading 67 chapters and not getting any closure would have only added to the frustration.
The main problem for me here is I just cannot root for the main character. Every decision he's ever made completely made his life worse and he knows it. I feel no sympathy for him because he has no redeeming qualities. Feels like the writer made a list of the worst possible things you can put a character through and just decided to add all of them to the story instead of picking 2-3.
Imagine 13 years of zero growth. Imagine trusting every single evil person in this book but not the person who's been actually helping and supporting you. And then blaming that person for every tragedy. Yes, Seung-eon was no saint, but if your choices are all assholes anyway, you could've picked the least evil one. Only at the very end does he say he avoided him all this time so that he wouldn't be burdened. What a load of bs.
The events that led to the bad things that happened to Jinwook could have been avoided, and he had every opportunity to escape that hell but he actively chooses not to. Instead, he puts himself in even more dangerous situations.
If he didn't pull that "pay me 1.9 billion won and I'll be with you" crap and just paused and used his supposedly smart brain for two seconds, none of this would have happened. And even after the first 4-year time skip, when he just believed the freaking loan sharks about Seung-eon being responsible for his dad's death NO QUESTIONS ASKED, zero brain usage. And then he continues being friends with Hyung-seo even after he was warned about him and after Hyung-seo crossed his boundaries more than once. Still he wants to be friends with him.
With the way this character was written and his lack of critical thinking skills, it was a good thing he didn't become a lawyer. I would not trust this man to make any rational decision ever.
"How old are you?" "Grown!"
