Is there something wrong with the thumbs (up/down)? I've tried to click thumbs up several times. At first I was told, I had already voted, which I hadn't and even though I refreshed the page it still says 0 votes. Now it doesn't react when I try to press thumbs up at all.

I would really like a 3rd status: discontinued

Would help me not read mangas that were either dropped or were the mangaka died before finishing the story.

Yeah, but there are quite a few stories that says "completed" because that all the chapters there are - that doesn't mean the story was finished.

I'm always wondering when it says "tragedy" if it ends in tragedy or if there's tragedy in the story. I'm not a fan of stories that ends in tragedy.

some, happy things - end up tragedy
some, past tragedy and with beautiful ending.
some, just tragedy from begining until the end.

Well tagging is pretty important to me so i took notice of that. What i observe is that when there's a tragedy tag, someone died. But that does not necessarily mean as a tragic end. For some, it is simply a genre. I emphasized that difference in my drama list. Differently marked too
In a nutshell, the tragedy tag is like a jack in a box. It may or may not end tragic. You won't know unless you read

    Rain April 3, 2016 2:57 pm

Yeah, but sometimes I avoid those with tragedy tags because I wont risk ending up all depressed because the ending was sad.

Haha, up to you if you are going to risk it or not! In paperbacks or any type of literature sans manga/japanese novel, i care very much about any tragic end but i am okay with that when it's a manga.
    Me: i'm okay ╥﹏╥ ( 30 secs later) (╯°Д °)╯╧╧

I can't hold my heart properly when reading tragedy manga with tragedy on the end of story.
