Hmm. I doubt Daphne's deaths has anything to do with the ML. Maybe her dying is some kind of part of the story. And that dream MC had I think it's not just a mere dream. It could be a lost memory. Maybe Mc and ML were actually in love but as they were trapped in this novel they had to chase the same girl.

He has loved Haedam so purely all this time but also without hesitance let Haedam go for his happiness. He has always been there for him. Now that's what you call a selfless love.
