Big spoilers here

Nina loves Sett, she even told him in the latest chapter. She refers to Az as her first love, and he is important to her, but not as a lover. Again, pretty big spoilers here, but the important reason why we had to know who Nina loves is because that person has to kill her when her powers go out of control. So even if Nina loves Sett, their time together is limited.

alej248 created a topic of Akatsuki no Yona

My favourite thing about this series was how Yona had to learn there's a world she doesn't know, that she has to fight for what she thinks is right, and that there's no easy answer to every problem. The manga starts with Suwon killing Yona's father, which completely breaks her. But instead of making Suwon into a one-note villain, the story (at least in the first part) presents him as a complex character who had every reason to kill the king, even if it meant betraying Yona's trust. It's a difficult situation because for Yona he is a "villain", but for the people who suffered under her father's rule he's a good king.

My problem with the manga comes in the sencond part. Yona has matured into a responsible person and she has people she can rely on, but suddenly every conflict is solved through talking, and Yona is always right. There are situations, especially in war, when common sense does not apply in real life, and there are leaders who cannot be reasoned with, which is why fighting is inevitable. However, in this manga, Yona always gets to choose the easy road that involves no bloodshed, which suddenly makes Suwon seem like an incompetent ruler, even though he studied his whole life to become king and other characters also acknowledged his potential. Forget about experience, education and knowledge, turns out Yona was always destined to be queen, even though the story made it seem like she was happier travelling with Hak and the dragons, helping others. This will be a controversial opinion, but Suwon should have stayed king, and should have atoned to Yona by being a good ruler who helps the country. It would have been a much more complex and realistic ending, Yona becoming queen to me was cliche and the easy ending.

Great characters, interesting cases, good art - this manga has everything. The characters also have great dynamics with each other which leads to some very funny moments. I only wish there were more chapters.

alej248 created a topic of Mars (SOURYO Fuyumi)

I liked the first couple of chapters and I do think the manga had potential, but it quickly turns into a soap opera. I wouldn't recommend it as an adult

alej248 created a topic of Ouran Koukou Host Club

This is one of the funniest manga ever, and Tamaki will be forever that diva haha

Aside from how I hate stories where one character is a university student and starts dating a high schooler, what made me roll my eyes here the most is how everyone keeps saying that Yamada is handsome, all the time lol In some series, like in Ouran, it can be funny because it's a joke, but in this manga it's just annoying. So you're telling me Yamada is a high schooler, a pro gamer, super handsome to the point that every single character needs to remind us, he's also smart and has time to date a university student...Sorry, but as an adult I cannot help but cringe how unrealistic this story is.

I was actually excited to read a work intended for adults, but this was a big let-down. The start was actually nice, the guy was truly portrayed as a dangerous person and there were a lot of funny moments too. However, as I kept reading it and also spoilers about the novel, the more ridiculous the plot became. First of all, can Korean authors stop with the random childhood connection trope? It adds nothing to the story other than the unrealistic "they only loved one person" trope. Also, it makes absolutely NO sense that the guy is a virgin, but what's worse is how the FL knows nothing about sex even though she's a full-blown adult. Meh. And the guy turns into your typical cold abusive asshole in the second half of the novel with the overused accidental pregnancy trope (not very surprising, considering in these stories protection doesn't exist lol). If you're looking for a good love story, this is not the one.

alej248 created a topic of Toying with Daddy

A man can be the victim of SA, I don't know why this needs to be said in 2026. Just because his body reacts, it doesn't mean he enjoys it. The FL here is a r@pist and the whole webtoon makes me sick.

Please read this one on the official site, it's completely free! This is one of the most beautiful webtoons I've ever read. There's no stupid misunderstanding, rather it's a realistic story about war and the price people have to pay for their decisions. But prepare tissues because it's very sad.

alej248 created a topic of Vampire Knight

I hated Kaname as a child and I still hate him as an adult lol I guess I was never a fan of incest, grooming and emotional manipulation. It's crazy how this relationhsip was normalized and readers were expected to root for them. I don't think any sane person would choose him instead of Zero, I can tell the author didn't know how to end the series.

alej248 created a topic of For Your Murder

I just saw the ending, I won't be spoiling it here, but I still keep wondering why this series was rated mature on the official site and needed age verification. There are a lot of other webtoons that are more violent or gory (e.g. Chaising Tails) and they are still PG-rated, which makes me think the story was supposed to darker..? I cannot recall anything in this work that could warrant the R-rating. I thought the ending was the one that would be way darker but that also didn't happen so I'm confused.

alej248 created a topic of AISHA

The world has become so fast people have no patience to wait for such a high quality work. It is heartbreaking that this series might never be finished because the artist needs time to deliver this quality.

alej248 created a topic of Fever

I liked the first few chapters, they were very cinematic, like how the basketball was thrown at the same time the soda dropped. The characters look like actual teenagers too. I hope it won't have a tragic ending because the mc talks in the past tense.

alej248 created a topic of The Classmate

For people who keep asking about romance, I follow this story on the official site and the author added a romance thriller tag and a hateromance tag. So there will be romance, but it's also a horror/mystery series.

alej248 created a topic of Ameiro Paradox

Coming back, even after so many years, this series is still great. The main characters are just normal dudes who work for the same company. I love how their relationship is portrayed, because even after they get together they still argue and they don't act all lovely every single day - sometimes they just watch tv together or sleep in. But they always regret when they hurt each other and apologize. It feels like a realistic relationship, and bonus points for not making every single character gay. Even when they talk about moving in together the conversation feels natural.

Also, this is one of the few BLs that actually focus on the jobs of the main characters and how it affects their daily lives. They have a professional relationship as coworkers and the other members of their team are also interesting characters.

alej248 created a topic of Lost in the Cloud

Loved season 1. Season 2 was still okay. The whole storytelling structure changed in S3 - instead of explaining anything, we got the 'show, don't tell' approach - there was almost no dialogue, no introspection or resolution. Even Skylar's photography hobby was forgotten while we were told in S1 he won a lot of awards, also his past badboy persona came out of nowhere and probably wasn't planned considering in S1 he had a quirky personality. Cirrus was the most consistent character and the one who was done dirty by the narrative the most. I loved his relationship development with Skylar in S1 but they started dating out of nowhere and only argued afterwards. It was hard to imagine why they even liked each other.

Also minor spoiler but
Skyar was physically abusive to him multiple times and used Cirrus's trauma against him. Yet he never opened up about his own trauma to Cirrus.
