It shows the backstory of why and how Yesol sabotaged the baseball team and it was because he knew Hanlim’s shoulder was only getting worse and the coach refused to switch him out + He found out Hanlim started depending on the drugs from his old captain and Yesol feared he would get caught so he gave away their strategies to the opposing team and gave them signals throughout the whole match so that his team would lose.
The romance doesn’t actually pick up until around ch 27-28 but i can confirm they’re together now with an actual confession scene and everything but it’s already implied Hanlim had feelings for him since back then so then they imply Yesol felt the same and now he’s realized it. (It’s also revealed Hanlim used Yesol’s birthday as his password for everything since high school haha)
There’s the continued plot of them investigating who the stalker could be and meeting with old teammates and the reveal that Lee Junhyuk died recently so it shows Hanlim attending his funeral + Extra plot points of Hanlim secretly hiring a private investigator to watch over Yesol and gather extra information (including Yesol’s boss) and Yesol switching hospitals because he learns the hard way how scummy his friend is so he cuts ties with him completely.

Extra backstory stuff I forgot but we get confirmation that Hanlim’s dad was abusive back then and he couldn’t handle being helpless anymore so he decided to fight back before running away so we get a whole scene where he calls Yesol for help after he’s been found and taken to the police station and Yesol’s mom talks with the police about his situation and says she’ll take him in for the night + Hanlim opens up to Yesol how he felt about it with saying he was scared of becoming like his father because it felt exciting while he was beating his dad and he wondered if that’s how his dad felt each time he hit them so it made Hanlim disgusted to feel like that.

So I don’t believe Hanlim is a part of the people sending the threat letter and beating up yesol but why does it look like that’s a possibility if you just look at raws and google translate? Is it because we’re missing the convo with the private investigator and we’re sure Hanlim is only protecting yesol? I forgot but there was another weird moment in the raws where Hanlim looks slightly involved with some of the people who are suspicious

I think the next raw that’s released might cover it because Yesol found out about the private investigator so it should be revealed why Hanlim hired him exactly but I admit it does look a little shady in earlier raws tbh I personally think it’s more likely he’s not involved at all for various reasons + what the author said about where they wanted the story to go in the coming chapters.
I doubt he’s actually the culprit tbh there’s only a moment where he seems shady but there’s no actual proof that he’s the culprit or if he’s involved at all and it makes very little sense to me for him to be behind it for various reasons. There’s still only so much that is revealed right now though so we have to wait for more.

The author said in an interview that they wanted to focus on Hanlim and Yesol’s growth, especially as individuals so it’s unlikely that things will go in the direction of Hanlim being bad because then that’s just detrimental to his growth and the opposite of what the author is going for
Yeah the part that would make no sense to me most is why waste months of chapters investigating all these people and getting to know new characters and specific revenge related backstory if it’s just Hanlim orchestrating it all, takes away from the detective work lore esp since it’s planted so early he’s a possible suspect.
