I feel bad for astalieu(? Idk if I spelled that right) like he’s not doing anything directly to harm anyone he just is shy and doesn’t feel he can stand up to his brother. And sometimes I honestly feel bad for Balzac, SOMETIMES, mainly because his parents most def drilled narcissism and pride into his head and he doesn’t know how to handle embarrassment. I hate his dad for surrreee and do I think Balzac should be punished for what he’s done and do I think he’s a brat, of course. But like I said I don’t think hes fully to blame for his actions since hes literally what like 9? I don’t think he has full on malicious intent when it comes to physical things towards tia I think it’s just extreme anger issues (I’m not excusing anything, harming someone is still harming them, I’m just saying.)

Everyone who is saying she shouldn’t be like that she should understand or the other way around and say it as riftan shouldn’t be like that please remember:
Maxi was abused. Never had validation. Assumes the worst due to conditioning and growing up in an environment were she was abused for doing the minimum of living. She thinks Riftan knows of her abuse but he doesn’t because her father fronted that he was “gifting” Riftan his daughter when really he was just trying to get rid of her to someone who had a rough reputation.
Riftan has never had to express his feelings. He is unaware of Maxi’s abuse and ISNT aware he should be sensitive to it. It’s shown multiple times that he thinks Maxi was spoiled growing up because of the way her father portrayed everything + the fact Maxi never came to the estate when they got married and instead stayed at her fathers (not by her own choice mind you) so he thinks she doesn’t see what he has as good enough. He’s a warrior who isn’t used to truly talking and communicating with others, he’s touch starved and probably thinks physical contact is the only way Maxi will truly understand what he’s trying to convey. He’s a take action ask questions later type of person.
Yes it’s understandable he’s upset and we all know it’s because she could’ve been hurt but no one can blame Maxi for being scared and assuming the worst at the same time.
Both of their feelings are valid.
So please stop with the Maxi/Riftan slander it’s truly just bothersome. If you don’t understand what I’ve stated above then maybe reread the story and actually pay attention.
I can somewhat understand why they aren’t letting her meet Theo (Sunday), like they probably think that her being close to him will keep her in her past of being a slave and remind her too much of sad memories without realizing it would actually help her get accustomed to her new life more comfortably and that keeping her away from him is only going to make her more anxious because she doesn’t understand why she can’t.
I haven’t read ahead in the raws or the novel (if there is one) but I’m predicting that Theo will be the ML after becoming a knight and will probably be her personal knight or something.

Everyone is saying “why didn’t you just tell him” as if that’s not a big deal. He’s probably scared and anxious even if he knows TaeYoon would never cause any harm or have ill intent. But you have to think about that, as much as I agree he’s had chances and should tell him, 1st he had to make sure it was a stable relationship before even introducing him to TaeEun but TaeEun met him much earlier. Like imagine telling TaeYoon yeah you’re the dad then TaeEun starts calling him dad but then they all of a sudden have a falling out, then where does his second parental figure go? Like idk it’s just annoying seeing so many people being like “WHY HAVENT YOU TOLD HIM YOU SHOULDVE TOLD HIM AS SOON AS YOU MET HIM AGAIN”
Yes but the thing is that it is NOT only for him to decide i'm not saying he should've told him the second they met again but imo he should've told him before even considering dating him.

In my comment I say “as much as I agree he’s had chances and should tell him”. I’m aware he should tell him now in their relationship but my main point was no one is considering the fact he could be scared + the ending quote I made of telling him as soon as they met. I have no issue w the people or the comments that say he should tell him now or should have by now it’s just those who are saying things like you should’ve told him the minute he popped back up because that’s bs.
Aside from my first reply to this, and I’m meaning no rudeness in these, who else would it be to decide if he tells him or not? I’m genuinely curious since no one else knows who else would tell him that he needs to tell TaeYoon?
