So you the posed, mature, manly Mr. Dalton you've know until here? Give it a few chapters and then FORGET ABOUT HIM. They plan the hunt and ball together, everything seems to stir in the right direction until fucking Miss Lance & Co. arrive and - long story short - during the final evening of the ball, Laura and Dora overhear William and Ian talking about how Ian ruined Miss Lance's reputation (letting anyone misunderstand that they were engaged or to be) and how Ian wouldn't marry anyone but Laura. Then, Laura tries to leave Whitefield to go back to Dunville Park, and the man literally jumps in the carriage, keeps on professing his love, threatens her that he would shot himself if she did not marry him. After this, Laura goes to Bath supposedly for just a season (ya know, to avoid a mental breakdown) and he FOLLOWS HER, even fistfights her first love - no need to explain this, will skip as it's not so interesting - and then gets sick. Fast forward to her showing up to his door blabbering that she also loves him and THAT'S IT. That's it. Then, side stories (so many of them BUT nothing disappointed me more than the fall of Ian from mature husband material to macchina, nothing can avenge my disappointment, not even 67289863 millions side stories)

I guess the switch from a mature, poised man that wanted nothing to do with love, to a sensitive, yearning manchild was all due to irony. I’m not one to enjoy male interest with that character, but having Ian, who protested and judged so hard at people who were over heels, swooping to that same level—is clever!

I Love the story very much b

If you like cute stories, especially with the example manhwa you read, then I don't see this being your cup of tea. Personally? I gave up and dropped it, I couldn't stomach anymore rape and torture of the bottom. It sucks cuz the couple is really cute. I really loved seeing them in the spin off and maybe I'll read the extras just for them.

But if you're like me, you can't handle chapters and chapters of suffering and rape, then nah.

tbh, and this might sound crazy, but the weird strangers were actually the best part of this manhwa for me. i hated everything else. unfortunately for me, they were basically out of the picture by chapter 10 :( i personally do not recommend this at all, but if you like toxic red flag semes, you'll enjoy this lmao

HAHAH did YOU read it he literally rapes haekyung multiple times at the start, let’s not do this please. he constantly tries to isolate haekyung from meeting anyone other than him and emotionally manipulates him. a violent and controlling man is absolutely a red flag.
