ugh I loved reading HG’s perspective (moreso in novel bc there are a few chapters in his perspective) and its written so fucking beautifully I just??? literally one of my favorite things about their relationship is how often their thoughts run in parallel without either of them knowing it. they can hear each other without realizing it. it’s almost paranormal, and I’ve never read anything that managed to show two people as true mates without making it feel unrealistic...they are the real definition of OTP.

their separation hurt so much more too bc there was never one person walking away clean while the other suffered. they were both carrying the same relationship around like they were the one who had ruined it. and then HG’s POV will give you all of that emotional devastation and, with absolutely no transition whatsoever, this man is basically like: anyway. wife.
