The manhwa is missing a FUCK TON of Won’s interiority -- what is missing is that Won genuinely believed he and HG had been carrying an equal weight of guilt over everything that happened and when he finally learns the truth, that entire weight shifted onto himself. He’s so ashamed and beyond furious at his own selfishness, and the narration literally acknowledges that he ends up taking that anger out on HG. He’s reliving his trauma while finding out that the person he loves suffered far more than he ever knew, and he blames himself for it. they literally get back together like in a few days lol also Won was literally left out of SO much; multiple times he wasnt given the truth of the situation and thats not okay.
(but peep HG saying "I miss you too" bc he knows won is processing this hard as fuck and won just has to be won about it for a sec.) this is literally the last big thing before they fuck each other brains out and are too busy doing that to ever even think ab breaking up again.
also, if we wanna villainize someone how ab the REAL fucking problem here: Won’s mother. are we just?? not talking ab this??! this mfer was talking to HG THE ENTIRE TIME and never thought to tell her own son a damn thing??? She stood by while Won was abused, then kept communicating with the love of his life after he watched his father get crushed to death right beside him. and THEN he's left to piece together the truth YEARS later but somehow he's the villain for struggling to process it??? Like, she’s already being blamed for a man harassing her, and now his ‘affair partner’ is humiliating her at work and then brings up something that is NOT her business to begin with, but is just so intimate and painful? I’ve spent so long wishing she’d fight back, but here… I just wanted to give her a big hug. I really just want her out of reach of these people for five fucking minutes.

ugh ok THIS is what gets me about Mei specifically now -- the thing he learned because other people were constantly deciding what use he could be to them? that's the thing he now uses to understand people and take care of them.
he learned how to make himself useful before he ever got to just be a person, just a CHILD. and somehow that didn't make him cruel. it made him frighteningly good at seeing what people need. and he was taught to survive by becoming whatever other people wanted, and he grew up helping people find what *they* actually want.
which also makes his own blind spot so fucking painful. Mei knows how to give, arrange, fix, facilitate, provide... he knows how to make himself valuable in somebody else's life.
what I don't know if he understands yet is how to just be in one.
