But this was never supposed to be R15. The original novel had tender, genuinely sexy moments that were deeply emotional and actually important to the story. Those scenes weren’t there just for shock value or fanservice. They mattered because sex was the only way Sangwoo knew how to express his feelings for Jaeyoung. He genuinely believed romantic love between two men was impossible, so physical intimacy became the language through which he communicated affection.
At the same time, I kind of understand what people mean when they criticize explicit content. This site is flooded with literal porn, but most of it feels completely empty because there’s no emotional core to it. Where’s the love? Where’s the yearning? I’m not saying every story needs sex, but there are certain stories where intimacy genuinely drives the narrative forward. You learn so much about the characters through those moments: what they’re feeling, what they’re afraid of, who’s falling harder, who’s holding back. Those scenes tell you exactly where the relationship is heading.
The original novel handled this beautifully. The sex scenes revealed so much about both Jaeyoung and Sangwoo, especially how quickly and deeply Jaeyoung was falling in love. There was passion, vulnerability, and longing from both sides. It never felt like the hollow “thrusting penis into a hole” type of content you see in a lot of pornhwas. The intimacy actually meant something.
A lot of those details were inevitably omitted because the manhwa was adapted as R15, and honestly, I don’t think it was meant to be. It was forced into that rating, and that’s why the adaptation felt slightly incomplete to me. That said, I really don’t have many complaints otherwise. Everything else was almost perfect. I loved the character designs so much because they brought Jaeyoung and Sangwoo to life exactly the way I imagined them while reading.
I just think that adapting a genuinely sensual and emotionally intimate novel into something closer to PG-13 takes away an essential part of the original work. So many important details get lost that, by the end, it feels like you’re missing pieces of the story’s emotional heartbeat.

LOL If you weren't new to this genre, you'd know that Yaoi literally means reading a romance between two men that involves sex. The person didn’t like the depiction of sex and is just making a funny comment about it. So don’t act all deep, because the whole premise of the first seasons of Semantic Error is that Sangwoo got a hard-on being around Jaeyoung, and their entire “situationship” was based on hooking up and sex.

also having sexual attraction and actually having sex is completely different. the whole story is about sangwoo's acception to being gay/liking men. you dont need to have sexual attraction to know youre gay LOL

jaeyoungs pov is slightly different, he states he's bi but he didnt understand why he was so keen on staying by sangwoo's side
all of this begins as romantic attraction, and then develops into sexual, nothing to do with just pure sex therefore op is showing fetish behaviour because fetishers only read stories that are mainly about sex
