I get that he’s trying to avoid the situation as a whole but it would have been cooler imo if he explained the basics of the situation(his spouse suffered severe amnesia and subsequently became essentially a whole new person) and he was grieving the person he used to love because although the person is still moving it’s not HIS personal anymore so he is essentially in mourning and wearing the ring as a reminder it would also be a nice lunch in the face for the ml
