Also, I don't care if Hiyori accused Rennosuke of being insincere in his feelings. After this grownass man not only insulted him, a teen, then groped and made sexual remarks about his boyfriend, another teen, and the boyfriend apparently didn't see enough wrong with that because he decided to go 'Wow, you're judging him after only a few minutes? I'll only come to you for advice so don't hate this random adult creep anymore ' like IDGAF Hiyori deserved to crash out. I know the author is probably gonna make Hiyori apologise cuz too many mangakas have a problem with pretending that even the most clear-cut situation can't have someone accept their wrongdoings without the other person prostrating. I know Rennosuke is a victim (although the manga will never accept him as one) but he straight pissed me off this chapter.
Okay, so basically I'm commenting because 2 comments below me someone compared this story to Jinx, calling it toxic, the ML a selfish prick, and the MC a bird with no self-respect. Naturally, as someone enjoying the webtoon, I was greatly dismayed and took them at their word. And then I read the novel and I'm confused because none of what they said seems to have happened. Both the MC and ML were rather nuanced characters who both gave each other a lot of grace and no one was being selfish or a bird here. Additionally, I can't really find a scene which matches the previous commenter's description of the ML leaving the MC on different occasions 'to maintain his perfect image'. In fact, whether the MC gets hurt or the ML, the ML is always the one to reach out, never the MC, so it feels slightly irritating at times that the MC never seems to be as attentive towards the ML as the ML is. I have no idea what novel the commenter below read and I need someone to help me out either by backing me up or telling me what I missed.
Omg yes I read the novel after being scared from the comment but the ML is genuinely so kind. I love both the MC and ML (even if the mc is overly acquiescent at times) because they are so flawed but constantly working to heal. I’m not one to excuse poor actions/forgive toxic men so I really don’t know what part of the story the original comment is referencing the ML’s apprehension is really understandable since he’s never seen him in a romantic light before, but he considers it seriously and with care

I'm so glad you responded because I haven't the faintest idea what novel the original comment was talking about. For all the ML's faults, he was wonderful to the MC in many ways and made up instances where he wasn't. I like both of their characters and am really looking forward to seeing their love story depicted in this webtoon.

I’m critiquing this bottom from this point of view which I get some/many people won’t fully agree with becuz we all deal with shit differently but - some of us grew from the trauma without help or hurting others in the process.

People deal with trauma imperfectly all the time and yes, even hurting people while dealing with your trauma doesn't make you a bad person in any way. I tend to think more in terms of bad actions instead of labeling the actors as bad people as a lot of these comments are. Also, I never said all the comments criticizing the bottom were straight women. I was always criticizing the comments that were dismissing the bottoms trauma as insignificant or trivialising it by pretending that ongoing physical abuse from his father since he was a child was somehow equal to a heterosexual man dumping his girlfriend randomly (like a lot of these comments were syaing). Reread this cuz I'd rated it 5 stars but I didn't remember anything about it. Finished and dropped to 1 star. ML was fantastic but couldn't stand the MC. Sure, he was realistic but being realistic doesn't equate to being a good or likable character. He was far too pathetic for me, and remained a coward throughout. Self serving to the very end. ML was a literal Saint in comparison. I genuinely don't see anything that drew the ML to the MC. ML genuinely only fell for the MC's wet cardboard personality because the plot required this. I bet I meant to add this to my 'Want to Read' list and accidentally misclicked.
