Actually it explained on the same chapter! It says the director got fired cuz they dared question the female student's capability in playing the piano. The prof doesn't let that slide and got the director fired!
he’s also the same conductor that was involved with youngjo, which is why naeun’s aunt wouldn’t help her with youngjo’s plan later on. it’s just a moment from the past that’s used to show the kind of person the professor is.
