Probably one of my fave antags is in this story, just because she's so... Threatening but doesn't feel helped by the plot too much. Like she's actually intelligent and vicious but also doesn't take easy routes like the typical white lotus.

Story is good but I do have some issues with the way the conflicts seem... Completely waived away. Like the story sets up a very good base for a tragic story but by chapter... I feel 6 they kind of just stop taking the conflict, which is that the prince is no more than the child of the enemy who cursed them is supposed to be sacrificed. I don't want this to get too long but I found the premise really engaging since the way every character interacted with the Mc felt really full of contempt. So it sucks that they just drop it to make another super strong cunning female lead story.
I think they at least should have done a grand reveal of her true identity, since so far at least they haven't mentioned if having strong mana or magic is normal in the royal family?
Great story though but so far it's seeming to go down the latest route of the author wanting a more typical female lead solves every problem and ends up with a happy obssessed family who's traumas and issues have been snapped away. While the beginning is promising a different deeper story of an orphan being used by a cruel King, who at this rate will be revealed to had set her up knowing she has the mana they need to reverse the curse all along because he felt bad.

Starts off a little rocky but once it hits the second volume (chapter 5) the story did a whole flip and got super cute and fluffy. I like the magic systems a lot so I'm happy this got updated

Omg like this is so messy and dramatic I love it. But they're gonna have to do something crazy to make me pity the ML and hate the former King uh uh. I still need the ML to get thrown into a wall or something idk.

This story isn't bad, it's comedic and sadly the kids she raised end up trying to be her love interests but the FL clearly isn't for it at all which is nice. It's played for comedy mostly I feel, but it is still really awkward feeling, I just feel bad for her in most of the latest chapters and hope the real ML coming back can wrangle these horny freaks and knock some sense into them

Really love this story but it's interesting how it feels like a trend to make the mean spirit reincarnated og FL have a tragic pre death backstory instead of just being mean spirited to excuse her behavior

The story is cute but I would like it more if it wasn't a transmigrator, or at least made the FL actually have to make an effort to be super innocent and nice. Not saying she's not basically surrendering herself but she's also not a naturally mean or cruel person so the act doesn't feel as taxing as the story wants it to seem.

Cute low stakes comedy story so far, I feel really bad for her older brother though

Let this marinate and no shade I'm very happy it moved from feeling like tragedy porn and focused more on character growth. The characters and plot feel much better written than in the first season.

JubeyStar created a topic of Duchess in Ruins

Only reading the official but I'm really trying to figure out how the antags plans will even work out. The emperor knows Laslo is his brother, Edele is in a position where she's Laslo's property so I don't think they can't do anything to her that's legal. And gossip can only do so much to the Emperor's right hand man... Honestly though I'm happy that for once the villains don't have tons of plot armor. Also I thought Angela Bliss was smarter than that but I guess not, the plot hasn't given me enough reason to believe their plan has even the slightest chance of working beyond noble gossip

I need the FL to get the biggest lick back possible like I need to see the ML sobbing and crying at his loss of power as the citizens turn against him

Omg I love this story's world so far, and also a black Mage female lead story where the magic is taken seriously and doesn't feel as wish fulfillment. Most of these stories don't show the risk and exchange that most demon magic would have in fantasy worlds

She pissed me off so bad this is the dumbest misunderstanding and choice ever and it might be another few months before the next chapter is translated wow

I really like the magic system in this story but oh my goood why did they have her mom and ML's dad be a couple too it sends me so bad

I know it's a pipedream but I want an anime for this so bad I think it would be hilarious voiced and animated

This isn't to bash the story or anything but it is genuinely hilarious how quickly her family just says "Sorry also we love you a lot" and all immediately fold. I don't think it's an issue with the story but if it was going to be this quick I don't think they needed to put as much emphasis on her bad relationship with her brothers and father

Really cute but personally Im tired of these type of villainess stories where they fully replace the character and act like they had no reason for their past actions as they immediately become super nice and quirky. Not really a critique, the story is a cute read and the designs are pretty

The political drama in this is really interesting, I like how the ML is being trained to be a ruler that knows when to make harsh decisions and as the story goes on the FL is being shown that sometimes harsh decisions don't lead to the best results.

I don't think anyone is wrong for hating the way the ML is praised but I also think the story is trying to show that there needs to be a balance, it's just that the FL has been shown against opponents that are best dealt with ruthlessly so it's easier to see her side as correct. I think if the story shows how many nations and discarded nobles have come together to try and destroy the Valkyrie Empire then she'll actually get good conflict that'll push her character in an interesting way.
