There’s a cliche we’re a FL verbally discusses not wanting intimacy and the ML will do it anyways because: they’re in love, you made me this way, your body is more honest than your words— it doesn’t matter the reason but it turns me off so bad.
I know why it’s done this way, a woman who admits she wants intimacy is often seen as a threat to society as a slut or a dirty minded person. So to move the story along(sexually) we get scenes we’re the ML makes the first move and the FL denies her sexuality, because that’s how some women are in certain situations(culture/timeperiod/ect)
But I dooooont likeeeee ittttt
We have some different kinds of women who don’t do that and take charge- but authors sometimes swap the roles and we end up with “FL tops ML doesn’t want it” which is just as bad.
Any suggestions for a story where FL isn’t constantly refusing intimacy

Yeah, I agree with you, it's definitely not a good trope but I think I've read it so many times by now I'm kind of conditioned to it? Like, now when I come by it, it honestly barely faces me and I just keep on reading. Sometimes though, I get pleasantly surprised when I see character development or when it turns out there was some reason behind his actions. Although, of course, that all depends on the reason. If the reason is BS I get seriously disappointed. If the story is poorly written then of course the character development or whatever doesn't matter in the end. Though, I guess the reason I keep on reading these stories, even though I know the ML is a jerk, is because I truly hope for that sweet character development and love to read stories with characters starting from the bottom and crawling their way to the top and learning something.

I was young once, I used to think age gaps were romantic. Now im an adult and I can tell you right here and now,
No Adult Should Find A Teen Attractive. None.
If you hear “you’re so mature for your age”, then be on alert. This is an adult who has not only confirmed that they know you are young (by saying “for your age”) but that has also rationalized in their heads that you act older and are therefore OLDER.
As in they think “their age doesn’t matter because they act like an adult”. Which could lead to dangerous behaviors.
THIS IS NOT OK.
Ask yourself “why is this adult interested in a high schooler?” “Why doesn’t this adult hang out with other people their age”. “What do they gain from being with me”.

The only reason an adult will date a younger person is because it makes them feel special and appreciated. Changes are the younger person thinks everything they do is cool when all they’re doing is the bare minimum for an adult. A car, money, jobs, apartment, all that shit is common and no one their age will congratulate them. But a teen thinks they’re amazing and it’s validating.
They are NOT cool. They are lame and pathetic.
