This is honestly incredible. This speaks so much for the relationship between two foreign parties. Eliminating the element of communication makes it so you have to use your experiences to fully understand the other. He’s making the same face you’ve made when you were hungry= he’s probably hungry. He’s furrowing his eyebrows and my friend used to do that when he was angry= he’s angry. But this method is so incredibly unreliable and monumentally flawed because not everyone has the same experiences.

Which is why we have the natural (imo) creation of both misunderstandings and successful communication. Certain things can’t translate when you yourself have never had that experience. She’s never faced dragons or warriors, but she’s faced garbage human who used and abused her for their own selfish reasons= now she doesn’t trust people. OBVIOUSLY won’t understand the gravity of his situation, even knowing she had found him badly hurt. She’s never had something like being chased by an assassin dragon squad happen to her. She probably thinks he got in one fight and boom, it’s over. He has been raised in a warrior and knows how easy people can kill or turn on each other= he attacked her when she was saving him, he doesn’t want to abandon the dragon because she’ll get hurt by people he thinks are following him; he’s always on guard and notices the ex husband lingering too long; but he doesn’t know why the ex husband makes her uncomfortable or what their relationship Is . Because he probably doesn’t understand domestic violence because he’s only seen the war kind of violence first hand.

It’s just a beauuuutiful example of our limitations as people, in terms of conversation. The truth is, we are constructed by our own experiences and views; we’ve become biased in communication, jumping to conclusions based on our own experiences because that is What has worked in the past and speeds up our process of communication. And most of the time, it’s a successful conversation, but what happens with experiences that do not align?
