Most likely because murder is usually by killing another person. What he did was technically suicide and IF you do want to consider himself as one of his kills then it would mean he has only ever killed 2 separate ppl. The number on his head only accounts for how many times he’s killed, not the actual number of separate people he has killed which is why the sword saint thinks he’s an assassin.
On one hand, I feel bad for the original mc, where she was desperate and had no talent, so her brothers and father ignored her. On the other hand, since the brother and father greatly value cooking talent(?), it would make sense that she's not as valued as much and would be treated worse but it shldnt be until that extent imo.
