I feel like a lot of the newer BL manhwa recently have been genuinely disappointing and it honestly makes me sad. So many of them rely on the same exhausting tropes such as non consensual scenes, random second couples that somehow take up more screentime than the main couple, overly weak MC, toxic/red flag ML, and drama that feels forced just for shock value. It feels like so many bl focus more on being āintenseā than actually building a meaningful a story.
I love "Define the relationship", "passion: Raga", "kiss me if you can", "turning", and more. Even if some of them have flaws, they still feel memorable because the relationships actually have depth, chemistry, and development. I miss when BL stories focused more on the connection, character growth, and well written dynamics instead of just trying to be shocking or dramatic all the time.
I canāt say this enough but the relationship between Yuri and Xinlu is genuinely so beautiful. Yuri is so patient, gentle, and caring toward Xinlu, and Iām honestly so glad Xinlu ended up with him. It feels like Xinlu truly needed someone like Yuri someone who could be his ocean and his safe place.
Xinlu went through countless struggles in his life and had to deal with the psychological and emotional effects connected to his eyes and all the drama around him even if some of it came from his own actions lol. But seeing the difference between the āoldā Xinlu and the person he becomes later is honestly amazing. You can really see the impact Yuri had on him and how much being loved properly changed him.
Iāve read the novel five times already and I still canāt get enough of it. Their relationship feels so beautiful because they actually communicate and deal with conflicts instead of dragging them out forever. Yuri is incredibly understanding and Xinlu genuinely makes an effort to open up and talk about his problems. I just finished rereading the novel again, and I seriously have to say it one more time their relationship is so beautiful. I genuinely canāt hype them up enough.
Can't he just aborted the bby or something like i dont get it. If you know that you can't raise a child and you dont have the ability to then why give birth to it. You know he doesnt like you nor think that the baby is his so why keep it then ? Your baby is gonna be living with parents who both don't love each other.
The way the MC feels about the ML is so parasocial. Itās like he fell in love with an image of who he thought the ML was and even when the ML tries to break that image, he still doesnāt really want to face the truth. Because of that the relationship between the two just doesnāt work for me
Im so sorry but if your gonna make a side couple then finish the main couple first. Its such a pet peeve of mine bc I know there will be more scenes about them (WHICH I DON'T MIND if it was it own story after the main) and that there scenes is gonna be after something important happens to the main couple just to filter it out. Like this is not naruto right now why are we doing this

Itās actually really good. I love love the art and the vibes. You can tell the artist really took their time with their research and tried to include representation which I really appreciate. It started off really good
but Iām not gonna lie, I donāt like that the main conflict is miscommunication. Itās such an annoying trope especially when theyāre grown adults and literally live together. as readers we see both POVs and we KNOW they love each other and their bond is so strong that theyād follow each other even in death yet they canāt sit down and have one real conversation
They always run away before anything actually happens and itās getting frustrating. Iām scared that once it hits like chapter 30 or 36 theyāre gonna drag this miscommunication soooo bad and itās gonna make people drop it.
