JK feels extremely guilty about what happened to Dan. When he finally decided to ask him to stay with him even though he feel undeserving of him he find Dan BLEEDING in front of HIS house āBECAUSEā of him. We didnāt see what he went through while Dan was in the hospital. But we can clearly see from the state of his face that he is not doing well. JJK probably think that only bad things happened to Dan since they knows each other (especially what he himself did to Dan) and that the only way to protect him and for Dan to be happy is to let him go. Even if it hurts him he probably spend all his time crying and deciding that this is the right things to do.
Of course Dan canāt know about how JK feels even though he saw the signs that he cares. He probably wanted JK to say something but Dan was never really good at voicing his thoughts and always just accept JK decisions. Since he was supposed to leave anyway and doesnāt know that JK was going to ask him to stay, I think he is more concerned about JKs state than his own feelings or expecting anything from JK.
We are only at the 100 chapters!! There is no reason for the story to be over soon and no itās not dragging!! If you guys want ~50 chapters stories with things concluding fast and no character development go read something else. This is a normal pace for a story like that and Iām glad actually that mingwa is taking the time to make characters with realistic and consistent behavior. They both actually grew a lot compared to the beginning of the story and I think they need a bit more time to be able to really be happy together WICH WILL HAPPENED just be patient and enjoy the ride !!

It feels like a drag because itās ongoing with only 3 releases a month but if you reread the whole thing from the beginning itās not.

I think the only way to āenjoyā this story is to accept that the ml is fucked up and move on. People need to stop defending him and try to make them a wholesome couple.

Yāall acting like jkās change should be a straight line process but thatās actually not realistic at all, this is more realistic. He needs to unlearn YEARS of coping mechanisms and right now he feels like everything is going to shit, of course itās sad for Dan but we can see that at least now he felt bad when he saw Dan reaction unlike before when he didnāt care at all.
The guy is trying to change all on his own with no one to guide him and make him understand his emotions. He is like a wounded puppy barking at everyone, he doesnāt want to hold Dan back but at the same time it hurts him to see him leave, one of his biggest fear is happening and he cant do anything but hold back.
Obviously he will get better and learn to navigate his feelings but it wonāt happen in a few days and thatās normal.
I totally agree. And holding back to that effing cheating, lower-than-dirt scumbag takes a lot. Damn. I rarely get annoyed with an antagonist, but this character gets me every time he shows up in a panel.
