Yes, melanin protects the skin from UV. Lesser melanin = lesser protection. But, please keep wearing sunscreen and try to avoid direct sun exposure around 10 am - 5 pm, especially now that the sun seems pricklier than before. reply
I don't know to be honest, it just happens you know, you don't actually have to pick. Also, if you're uncomfortable with the thought of it, you dont have to do it or you can do it with your significant other, usually you wouldn't really think about it at all with someone you really like.
