Talk openly with your educator that you are feeling overwelmed with the amount of work and struggling to do so outside of school hours, there should be some form of help or maybe extension (although I dont know where you are from so not sure on how your education system works). I think my awakening was from Vampire Knight, I felt like there was some form of tension between kaneme and zero and I liked seeing them close together on screen though I wasn't sure why. Started off watching anime(first one was inuyasha - not counting pokemon), ended up reading manga from that, then went into webtoons and then novels. I still read manga/webtoons when my eyes need a break from novels, but its rare for me to watch anime now. No reason apart from liking it as a hobby.
