Compared to the art of the novel, in the manga the characters looks so....
Disappointing. If it is to compare... I mean, if this was a shoujo with a fluffy high school girl falling in love with the popular guy of the school, then fine.
But for this novel? Nope. Big nope.
Was so excited but got so disappointed because of the art; I don't think it suits the theme of the novel.

If someone is interested, I do recommend. The world building is well done and the translation team are doing a good job.

That glasses girl sure is annoying. You go stay in someone else's house and acts like that?
Usually the professor type is the one I want dead first but,
Glasses girl, please go first.

I don't think the protago is hiding because of those annoying nobles,
But because of the hero party.
For goodness sake, what an annoying bunch

    i think so too

Anyone knows if the light novel has been either translated or licensed?
I found the links to the web novel on novelupdates, but still on chapter 20 and the translation is... Well. Guess they are kinda busy to translate it to a readable form?
So I was wondering, since so many people has spoilers all over the internet, if the English version is out there. I couldn't find it though.

To those who have had a little interest in this manga or none at all, I have come to say the following:
This manga doesn't hold a drop compared to the novel. *Edit that has spoilers as well: It is near the ending and the way the author rushed things up and how Cordelia lost all of her charm (confident, always doing her best, being capable to etc. Not saying she is not anymore, but now all of a sudden she sees herself as "inferior" to the prince ) just because the prince saved her, suddenly she became a maiden in love. Then Shelley goes to her shop and says she didn't regret what she had done? And Cordelia wishes her well? Like, have a good life psycho who tried to murder me, doesn't regret it and is resentful? She did say thanks to Cordelia for asking for lenience on Shelley's punishment tho.
Still, although all of the novel she is obviously a good person, no character with any personality at all would just forgive like that.
"Because it's a curse" "because this, because that". But Cordelia herself knows how that curse is, and that curse does nothing but increase your magical power. Shelley wanted to kill you, period.
And she is forgiven even after saying she doesn't regret it?
And then Cordelia doesn't even at least ban her from using her shops items to open her own massage store? Seriously??
The author just totally destroyed Cordelia.
What's this? This entire post was complimenting on how Cordelia wasn't overly OP, but now she is Saint Mary or something?
So, if you want to read it, don't read it until the end. When Shelley tries to kill her, stop.
It's better to pretend that's the end.

Spoiler

Lara will become one of her employees and her relationship with Gilled AKA Sylvester will keep on being through letters. When she meets the heroine will be at a church, and as expected, she is annoying as f*.
Cordelia will save the heroine when she is kidnapped and exposed a...well, a crime and get the Baron who kidnapped the shitty girl arrested.
As the heroine is the "dreamer girl" or known as Saint, she can kind of "see the future in her dreams"; She sees the Cordelia of the game and is hell bent on protecting the prince.
Cordelia has no interaction with the prince whatsoever and when she does, it is kept to a minimum.
She doesn't want to get involved with the heroine, but she did because of the kidnapping. The heroine's father is shitty as well; He treats the person who saved his unknown daughter rather poorly.
After the heroine is taken in by a Marques household, she is surrounded by other noble ladies who suck up to her since she is a candidate to be the next Queen. She is the dreamer girl, after all.
And most of her dreams do come true. By what she says, she wants to be of use to his highness. As she is surrounded, she starts spreading vicious rumours about Cordelia.
At the same time, Cordelia is gaining power using her fragrances and then goes to study under her aunt, Nirupama, thus, leaves the Capital.
Therefore, all the vicious rumours were seen as untrue, since her friend, Hazel, told the other Ladies the impossibility since Cordelia hasn't been at the capital for years.
When she does come back, she has become the beau of the beau and opens her own store.
She goes to a party, where unfortunately she meets the prince who is under disguise (but not as Gille). The heroine tried to "expose" Cordelia's true nature by...err...calling out to her, I think? But Cordelia politely responds and leave.
Rather grateful, for it gave her a chance to run away from the prince, who is still after her.
Shelley (the heroine) is steadily losing more and more followers, for Cordelia is The Lady among Ladies, who at her teens already has her own store that she had opened with the revenue she had from her fragrances.
And is popular with their parents, because of Nirupama.
Then, one day, one of her employees leaves to meet up with her mother, but she forgets her little pouch.
Cordelia goes after her and finds her talking with Shelley.
Shelley was screaming and threatening her. Saying that because her family (the girl who forgot her pouch) owes money to Shelley's family, she needs to obey her. She goes on and on until the girl says "Alright. I will ask my parents if we can return the money and find another way".
Then Cordelia steps in, protects the girl and then and there, decides to where the color she had avoided so much: Red.
At a party hosted by the Royal family, she goes in a red dress. It is a tabboo for her because the original Cordelia would always wear red.
She went using red to fulfill one of Shelley's dream.
At the party, when she is talking with Clive (Sylvester's "teacher"), Shelley is causing a fuss to a maid; Cordelia goes over there and Shelley throws THE ENTIRE tray filled with drinks onto Cordelia.
Then she starts meekly apologizing and making up excuses.
Cordelia speaks the same phrases that the Real Cordelia used, until one point she says "It is not me you should apologize to". She walks to the maid, who is on the floor and says "It is to her".
Then Shelley says it is obvious it is not the maids fault, and Cordelia just reaches the conclusion Shelley has no idea of what she had done.
The maid would, most probably, be blamed. She had let a guest help her, and another guest got hurt in the process; Besides the costs of the glasses, wine, and Cordelia's dress.
All that would financially ruin the maid. It would kill her really.
Shelley gets pissed off because although the lines are the same as it was in her dream, everybody was looking at Shelley as if she is the one to blame.
Then it happens.
She grabs Cordelia by the arm and tries to kill her.
She tries to focus all her power on keeping the magic only in her arm, so that it won't spread all over her body. But at this point her heart rate is already over the top.
Then, the bracelet that Gille gave to her got hot and broke.
It protected her.
The knights came and took Shelley and Cordelia told the knight that she thinks Shelley is cursed.( Probably the same curse that plagued the real Cordelia, but she didn't tell this last part.) Cordelia left, but before doing so told the maid that she, Cordelia, would explain the truth to the authorities later on and that, if the maid didn't want to work in the Royal Castle any longer, she is welcome to the Pameradia Household.
She leaves, goes to the back and waits for her carriage.
Whilst waiting, Sylvester appears and hugs her, saying he is glad she is okay.
She goes back home to find her father furious and needs to stay up all night in order for him to not go over to Shelley's house and kill everybody.
Then, through discussions, Shelley's father has the gall to say Cordelia is to blame as well and begs for his daughter's power to not be sealed away.
The king doesn't listen. Seals it and she is sent to live in the countryside. Kinda like home imprisonment.
Then Cordelia goes to the Royal Palace to give back Sylvester's robe that he insisted to lend it to her on that trying to murder his girl night. When she did, they go down to the green house.
There, she calls him "Gille"
and he answers something that I don't recall, but it does give Cordelia an almost certainty that Gille is Sylvester.
But then a messenger appears saying that the princess of the neighbouring Kingdom has come.
Stuff happens and Cordelia has to give this selfish brat a tour around the city.
There, she wants to eat plebeian food but Cordelia has to act as the poison taster (the gall!). Because the little princess is too scared since she is always being targeted.
Her plan is to be kidnapped by ghost, kinda the villain of this whole story.
Can't blame him for wanting to destroy this girl, though.
Cordelia is kidnapped instead and ghost tells this princess that Sylvester needs to come alone at a cabin until tomorrow night. Or else Cordelia dies.
He does go, saves her, they go to a special place and he tells the truth.
And that he has been in love with her ever since they had met.
This is where the translation is up to, but I do know the ending.
They marry.

All in all, it is not a bad story. Ghost makes appearance every here and there, it isn't like he appeared out of nowhere. The world construction isn't bad and the writing is not all bad either.
Shelley kinda turned into the in-game Cordelia, which is a nice turnout.
What disappoints me is how little part her father has in the entire story. It should have described on how he made Shelley's power be sealed away and I think he should have gone with his soldiers to rescue his daughter. The start of the story until the middle shows pretty much how close they have gotten. Thus, it is disappointing how the author made him act towards the end.
Another disappointing point is that Cordelia gets married. Don't get me wrong, I simply adore when the villainess gets married and lives a happy life. It is just that Cordelia isn't that over the top OP who can do anything. Thus, I really wanted her to take her aunt's place and be the next Countess. Was rooting for that more than romance.
Mostly because I simply don't like Vernoux and Sylvester. They basically lied to her her entire life and she is cool with that? Sure, everything turned out fine, but wasn't the prince the one she was running away from? Anyone would be scared of the guy who indirectly caused your death.
And although Vernoux didn't know the reason why, he knew she was avoiding him.
It was obvious to everybody. In her friends circle, only the females and Clive are decent.
The annoying Clive is decent, for at the start he clearly had shown his dislike towards her but they end up being friends for the sake of information. Business like.
Thus, I am rather disappointed that she ends up with Sylvester. He had hidden his identity from you your entire life and you don't get mad when you find out the truth? Really? Your best friend aids him and you don't get mad at him either? Seriously?
Her life was targeted because of Sylvester TWICE; He could have put a stop to it but he didn't. TWICE. He could have prevented it twice, but he didn't.
He is far too passive for a prince. Passive to the point of annoyance.
Both of them don't deserve the protagonist.
I was actually rooting for Clive to end up with her, even if there were no signs of that happening; Since he looks like someone who wouldn't mind his wife working and although annoying, he is a nice guy.
So, to those who didn't like the manga, I do recommend the novel. It is worth it. It has it's flaws, but what novel doesn't?
And again, the fact that she isn't overly OP is the best part.
She is always aiming to do her best and avoid the bad end.

    You're welcome
It was more of a rant from my part, so thanks for reading it ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
I just got really disappointed at how...it seems like all of a sudden the author is wrapping everything up, you know?
At the start until the middle it was very slow paced, then BOOOM.
    End.
The translation is almost done, so if you want to, you can go back to reading it

    Yeah,
Like, how all of a sudden they get together? The end reply rushed.
Up until then it was kinda slow paced, but then wow. She just jumped. BOOOM! END.
Oh, and Shelley (the heroine) uses cordelia's products for her saloon and gets all arrogant on Cordelia. And she is all kind hearted.
Like, hope you are doing fine, you are well and that you live a happy life.
DUDE, SHE TRIED TO KILL YOU!LITERALLY SHE WANTED TO KILL YOU!! SHE IS A PSYCHO AND SHE HAS A HAPPY ENDING!?
It's not like Shelley was cursed to want to kill or to do things she doesn't want to like others. no. Hers was simply to increase her magical power.
Thus, the last attempted murder was out of her own volition.
And the author gave the psycho a happy ending.

Thank you so much for the spoilers! This story started to get on my nerves ever since the prince first appearance. I hate it when the character said they want to avoid that one person yet still end up with that same person. I seriously pray to at least not end up with that prince. Ugh. I dislike the prince characteristic too. I mean, reading the spoilers, what did he even do? Giving enemy to Cordelia? Oh thanks. And Cordelia seems awfully happy with that. At least ok at least Vernoux is a bit better. And why-- GOD I can't chill. I'm upset how this story end like this. No wonder there is "Drop!!" word at the title

WhoKnows September 21, 2020 1:26 pm

was reading this manga to see if it is better than the novel and,
Same crap. She won't change and keep on being this "I can't do anything, I know...I know I changed people's lives and helped them, but I am useless and can't do anything..." attitude whilst the other characters will just keep on being "out of a book".
I think that one of the things I like about being reincarnated into a game world is seeing that the characters aren't from a game world. They have their will, their desire, their objective.
In this one, the changes are minor and the personalities are just the same.
But the most annoying one is the protagonist. Heck, I'd go for a heroine in some of these otome-like mangas anytime if I can exchange them!
And yes, to those who have read the novel and disagree with me, I have read a rather good amount of volumes before forming this opinion. And no, just because I am saying I don't like her that doesn't mean it gives you the right to attack me. If you want to argue, then fine. But no attacking, please.
I am tired of simply expressing myself and being verbally abused for giving my opinion.
