If this story is really completed, then I'm 100% disappointed in the author because then this story was pointless. The author just throws in useless plot points for the sake of them getting together. The MC describes his family as so loving and super important, but they might as well not have been there in the first place, considering they made 1 appearance in 5 whole chapters. Seriously, after he met the guy, the family (that was his motivation for doing anything in the first place) just *poof* disappeared.

And, on that note, we don't know much about the main characters, either. Not even their ages. All in all, it just comes off as a super shallow story that doesn't serve any purpose. Like a PWP without the porn. ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

I agree. I didn't even finish reading this because it's so stupid. I didn't feel any connection with the characters and neither of them actually have a personality. They're so plain.

narutolvr June 27, 2017 12:28 am

You know what's funny? I've tried reading this story at least 3 times and just can't stick with it at all! I don't know what it is- I just completely lose interest around the time she meets the pretty boy playing the zither (or was it a flute? Some instrument...). Prior to that point, it wasn't really a BAD novel, though the MC was annoying.

Maybe one day when I have nothing to do I'll try again, and hopefully finish it this time.

i read til ch 26 and stop. i cant handle the mc. she is too stupid.

I think she's the typical girl that Hwang Mi Ri uses in her stories. Her girls are generally rude and not very intelligent. If Hwang doesn't really make ur type of stuff then its okay. Tbh you pretty much gotta like her work from the beginning if you want to be able to get through it cas nothing really changes from start to end.

I agree. I've powered through and I'm now on chapter 39 and she's really an idiot. I feel bad for Yoo Baek

I said I liked it, but it seems I spoke too soon. It was a more interesting story than "oh this normal everyday plain girl who's just like you just so happens to meet the world's most perfect guy who loves her in all her bland personality goodness". So this story certainly caught my interest and even had me sort of looking forward to how things would go. That was before I realized the author basically stopped writing the story. The final chapter is basically a cliffhanger.

The story prior to that point jumped around so much I could barely keep track of what was going on. But I didn't mind that since I've read plenty of stories where seemingly disjointed and confusing events all tie into one big, fascinating story. So I assumed the author was trying for something like that, where she would slowly tie everything together as things got further along. But boy was I wrong! Nothing makes sense- what exactly happens to her and all the characters? How about Rose- does he end up okay or not? Do they get back what him for selling them out? How about the other kids- what happened/will happen there? What about the dead sister's ex? Does he ever get over himself? I'm just so confused...

    Princess_marichan June 17, 2017 12:28 pm

Erm.. In answer.. I think from the last chapter rose actually helped them to escape and kill master, he wanted to die along but was prevented by han ga ram's bf... And they show him meeting his brother and they hug.. I guess they live together again? And they dont get back at him as they really regretted leaving him behind... There were ten kids.. But they focused on tree, blossom , chrysanthemum, orchard and rose.. So rose had a happy ending with tree, orchard was living happily in a care centre, chrysanthemum was seeing having a heartbreak, and han happily married to her bf. Yu ga ram, the one who died was not the one han's bf loved.. As he had taken a pic of han, he fell for her and mistook her in the pic for yu, so in the end he doesnt have to get over anything as he is finally with the one he always loved.. Idk if this helped

Ugh thank you for clearing this up! When I say I could hardly follow the story, I meant it! Between the characters all looking the same and the touch and go scans/translations, I was hanging on the plot by a thread (also might have missed the last few chapters lol)

    Princess_marichan June 25, 2017 9:07 am

Hehe.. It happens too me too xD

narutolvr May 14, 2017 9:41 pm

Honestly, there's nothing about Chika that I like. It's one thing to want to tease someone, but how far does he intend to take it? At this point, his piss poor attitude is just hurting her and sabotaging himself. And I can't bring myself to like the Hanabi who goes out of her way to be abused again and again. Seriously, just what about him is so likeable? I don't get it!

narutolvr March 21, 2017 3:32 am

I never thought I would say those words but there's just too much sex. (⊙…⊙ ) I know. But, seriously, the sex took over the plot at some point and I don't even remember what was supposed to have happened. Don't get me wrong, I love PWP (porn without plot) when it establishes itself as PWP. Gimme the briefest of introductions to the characters and then draw them in bed- cool. But this went through the trouble of setting up a plot just to have nothing happen but sex. It was almost like the author would throw in a sex scene whenever s/he had writer's block...It reminded me of one of those cheesy pornos where rpthey set up a 15 minute intro with some delivery man or handyman coming to a lady's house, only to turn into scenes where you couldn't tell them apart from any other characters. Why even waste our time with the narrative in the first place then?

    яуσ サマ October 9, 2017 7:49 pm

    fam you're not even wrong
By the time I was finished, it took me a while to remember what happened

    Mikodami February 14, 2018 2:07 am

You're completely right. That was exactly what I was thinking. The story wasn't half bad, but the sex scenes were just too much and also of that run-off-the-mill porno quality. They made it difficult to follow the story. Well, fast forward helped a lot, though ^^. That's such a pity. Harumi Chihiro's artwork is so nice and the stories are pretty good too. Velvet Kiss also suffered a bit from this, but not to this degree.

narutolvr March 21, 2017 3:23 am

I like it a lot! The writing was lackluster and the author could have done a way better job setting the scene, but the emotions you see in the last 5 pages or so just scream at you they're so real and so painful. I wish the author had at least another 2 pages to properly paint the picture of this dysfunctional relationship we see brewing on the last page. At the very least, we need one more page to show her being ensnared by him when considering breaking things off. I also like that the author left us guessing when it came to how he felt- did he actually like her and just couldn't control himself when she asked for more? Or does he just not want to risk losing an interesting sex friend? Either way, it's got that realness to it a lot of other manga are missing- including a lot of yaoi.

narutolvr March 19, 2017 2:31 am

I really do. But the MC is just a bit too dumb, and the guy a bit too perfect for my tastes. Where's the realism? Gimme real characters with real conflict, rather than the generic shoujo gimmicks being thrown at us now. And please give the male lead some sort of fault (the fact that he's a horndog doesn't count). He's so perfect the story is painful to read. Or,at the very least, spend more pages on sex and less on the bland plot.

narutolvr March 13, 2017 2:04 am

The synopsis makes this sound like a great story and I really want to read it but...I hated the first 5 chapters so much I had to stop reading. The MC is unbearable, her glasses are never actually in front of her eyes, and the flow of the manhua makes it so hard to read! The scene changes are so abrupt that I have to take an extra few seconds every page just to try to understand what's happening. Despite that, I feel like it has to get better at some point during the next 140 chapters, right?

With that said, at what chapter does this story actually improve? Does the flow ever get better or should I just give up entirely?

    MeiKagura March 13, 2017 4:33 am

Ooooh boy, it gets AWESOME! At first I also thought that Lin Ling's design was a bit unpleasing but the more it goes on her hair grows A LOT and sure stops wearing glasses. The panels also get better, remember this manhua is read from left to right

    Mero March 19, 2017 8:04 pm

This is a character development story so it does get real good. particularly the second time she enters the game (That's when she really starts to grow as a person). Tbh it doesn't take long for her to change.

    Mimi April 1, 2017 2:45 pm

My advice-skip over to chapter 16 for when she meets adult Arthur. She also stops wearing glasses around here. That's where the meat of the story begins. Most of the stuff before that is background that establishes the beginnings of their relationship. Stuff like, in the real world she is tricked into working for a jerk, eating an egg will send her between dimensions, time passes differently between the two worlds, and she and Arthur had areally rough relationship start. By chapter 16, the author has the hang of the medium and characters and the flow is much better.

A lot of the story revolves around her maturity as a character. Her hair actually becomes a maker for how long she's been in the game world time/ how mature she is. Around chapter 30 she starts to grow her hair out more, 50 it's past her shoulders (around 4 years), and in 75 it's past her waist.

Webcomics like this often take their sweet time developing characters and story. What would often take a normal manga one chapter to do, will likely take a webcomic 5 chapters to explain. This is more due to the fact that authors frequently have a weekly update schedule with only 12 or so pages, and while manga chapters mostly have monthly updates with 20 page chapters. It gets better I promise.

Thanks! I really did feel bad to stop reading it because I could tell it had real potential- the first several chapters were just unbearable. I'll go with your recommendation and skip to chapter 16- thanks for the summary of the previous chapters! ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

So...Why was she regretting not sleeping with that college senpai again? Because he was pretty skeevy. I'm pretty sure most girls who weren't dead drunk would refuse a guy who suddenly grabs your hand and tries to take you to a hotel on your way home. It's one thing to be unwilling to have sex, but having standards and/or wanting to have more than a 10 minute conversation with the person who will take your virginity is a different story entirely. Gross lol.

Also about the love triangle...I rather like both guys tbh. I don't see college kid going for the long run- no issues with either of their personalities, I just feel like it's not the right timing for them. I foresee her breaking up, and after a few years of being single or having really casual relationships, meeting CEO again and them getting together.

I'm really happy to hear that Junko-sensei's getting an anime. After years of producing quality works, it's great that she can finally get recognized. But why is she being recognized for (what I consider) her most mediocre work? This isn't an issue of yaoi vs shoujo either, but character and plot depth. Where she put in time and effort to shape her MC's and and use the character development to develop the romance in the yaoi, I find that the characters are just being dragged along by the generic shoujo plot in this one.

Honestly, the only defining characteristic about this heroine seems to be the fact that she's a fujoshi. And that's just not enough to keep a story interesting for 40+ chapters. At this point, I just want her to hurry up and pick someone for this series to end. But, once she realizes her feelings, I'm sure some ex of some sort is going to enter the picture and blah blah blah and I just don't want to see talent reduced to producing that kind of drivel. Ugh, it's so sad to see an author who can produce such high calibre works, receive praise for a work that takes out so much of her unique flourish. But congrats anyway, Junko-sensei.

    lenalena September 25, 2016 10:39 pm

As a writer, I wonder how she feels. I would feel pretty bumped that the shallow work gets the attention. But maybe she still has fun writing/drawing it.
