Please give this manhwa a chance, the cover and rating are super misleading. It’s actually a really sweet story with a good message. The MC seems to have some kind of body dysmorphia (especially about his face), and i think it’s handled pretty well. I also love that his insecurities don’t magically disappear once he starts dating the ML.
There’s no scene either, although there are a few moments that get close, especially in the second chapter but it’s clear later on that the MC actually wants it and enjoys it, which is nice to see. Overall, it’s such a weird manhwa that you end up laughing and having a great time with it. Plus, the art is absolutely gorgeous. Totally recommend it.
Jaeyeon is so annoying and unbearable. His hatred toward the MC stopped being funny a long time ago, now it’s just irritating. Like, can you chill for a second and stop picking fights? If you’re so jealous, just go and confess already. It’s not Haneul’s fault you’re an insecure mess who doesn’t have the guts to tell the girl you like how you feel. It’s so stupid of him to take it out on the protagonist just because the girl he’s into is interested in the MC. Grow up man, there are more important things in life.
Girl please, I can’t show you a photo because the website doesn’t allow it, but go to page 42 and you can clearly see how Jaeyeon makes him trip (don’t even try to tell me it’s the main character’s feet because there are two different sandals in that scene ). Even if he didn’t do it on purpose, he couldn’t even apologize, they had to drag him to make him say sorry and he looked like he was being forced to eat shit. Plus, putting that aside, everything Jaeyeon’s done in the previous chapters has been super annoying, not to mention all the pranks he’s pulled on the MC in the past (he literally enlisted him in the army before he even wanted to go, like who does that?).
Jaewon, you miserable bitch, I hate you, I hate you, I hate you so much. It’s unbelievable that someone so empty and pathetic could exist, whose only joy in their disgusting life was hurting others. Even fate itself realized you were a waste of air, and that’s why you died so young. You disgust me. I’m so glad you’re dead and will never again torment anyone with your horrifying presence. My babies were innocent, they deserved a happy life, but as always, insects are drawn to the light, and the envy of a pathetic excuse for a human being hurt them.
What’s up with the manhwa and the creative liberties it’s taking? This doesn’t happen in the novel. I repeat, THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN IN THE NOVEL. This almost-kiss doesn’t exist in the original text; they just pulled it out of nowhere. Don’t make my baby look bad! . He is just a baby and people are getting the wrong idea.
The ending left me speechless and not in a good way. First, I want to clarify that I loved the manga, the story was incredible, as well as the drawing and the characters. I don’t regret reading it, but I sincerely doubt whether to recommend it or not. That doubt comes because of the ending. The story feels like it was left in the middle, there are still so many things to see , the mangaka literally only showed us 4 months of Sakuragi's life. He had still a lot to discover and improve, the same with the other characters. I wanted to see him make it to the big leagues or at least until high school ended, but the manga ends in his first championship, it just doesn't make sense. Also, I feel frustrated, after reading 30 chapters , seeing all the effort that everyone made to win that match, even Sakuragi got hurt, we find out that they lost in the next one. Worst of all, we found out about this in a paragraph, there are not even drawings of them losing. I understand that that can give it a realistic touch, but considering that this is the ending, it left me with a bitter taste. Anyway, I feel very sad and kind of angry, in my opinion the story must have gone on and it's a pity it ended so abruptly.
this literally was me because i ended up finishing it in 3 days and i was left unsatisfied, i couldn't believe that was the end. Why won't he just give us a sequel its been 30 years ugh but this genuinely is one of the best mangas ive read and i love Inoue Takehiko's writing and artstyle, if only he could give a satisfying end.

I honestly can’t wait to finish this manga, it’s so beautiful. It’s become one of my favorites. The dynamic between the two main characters just feels perfect. It really captures that shift from best friends to lovers in a way I haven’t seen before (you can really tell they are childhood friends).
I didn’t expect it to handle gender change in such a serious and respectful way. Usually it’s treated like a joke, without really showing how much it can affect you to suddenly have a body different from the one you were born with. I also didn’t expect Tachibana to actually prefer her new body and fully accept herself as a woman, and I think they handled that amazingly.
No matter what some people say, it’s great to see a trans character who’s treated with respect and who actually shows real growth after accepting herself as a girl. I love how much they care about each other, their devotion, and how far they’d go for one another.
I started watching the anime thinking it would go in a kind of “hidden yaoi” direction, and even though it didn’t, I’m really happy with how things turned out. You can really feel how unique the story is, probably because it’s written by both a man and a woman (who are married), and that mix of perspectives really shows.
There were a lot of moments where I found myself wondering if the author was a man or a woman, since some aspects of the story hinted at one, while others clearly had a feminine touch. When I found out it was both, it all made sense.
I hope I can read the final chapters soon and see how it ends, even though now that I’m this far in, it kind of makes me sad to have to say goodbye.
