i got lowkey got flamed alive in a forum discussing the anime so i’m wondering if anyone here feels the same.
i’m not one to insist the manga is always better but in this instance, i couldn’t get through the anime without cringing… i just hated the pacing and how trope-ified everything became in the anime. it felt like watching witch hat atelier go through layers of stereotyping and anime cliches. granted i watched the show in sub, and i heard the voice acting in the dub is actually fantastic, so i may have to watch it in dub instead, but the japanese voice acting was very “i’m voice acting and this is my voice acting voice” if you get what i mean?
i do love the animation and it was amazing to see how fluid it was, i’m just questioning the storyboard. i don’t know how to explain but it just felt like they ripped panels straight from the manga and animated it panel by panel instead of creating a unique storyboard that actually flowed like a show.
but you tell me, should i just give the show a second chance or does anyone feel similar to me???
i’m genuinely so pissed off for jinwon omg that group of morons pulling him into their dumb embarrassment game is making my hair fall out and you just KNOW jinwon’s parents are gonna beat his ass. i like how realistic it shows how petty people can be. everyone just tattling on each other and no one wants to take accountability
i’m just kinda curious how the translations for the titles range from “if you want a cheeky sorceress” to “if you want a slutty nymph,” cause the gap in meaning is very big… no?
bro i’m mad they cut his hair like he deadahh looks like every other bottom now omg bring back my boy failure uugfhhhhh

i feel so bad for sarang for being born in that situation, having a shitty dad, having mental health disorders, not having a psychiatrist, living in poverty, being targeted by school bullies, just everything and subin is such an interesting character, i love how they highlight the exact moment she gets high off of the attention of being “weird.” it was because of her authenticity and brutally honest nature that attracted light-red hair and the rest of her art academy peers to pay her any mind. if she had stayed that way and been true to herself, she could have still embraced the weirdo label. now she tries too hard and makes the concept of being a weirdo her personality instead. seeing that mask slip and breaking apart makes me almost feel bad for her. almost though
