From here on out Mgo should make several runs to load everyone's data correctly and apply bug fixes, so dont worry if your list is still missing some. A full second pass could push it to Feb 4–5, but a partial cleanup run would likely finish around Feb 2–3.
Most of the current issues should fix themselves after the full restoration process is done. Its best to give it at least 2 weeks from now. If after everything finishes and youre still seeing clear errors in your marked mangas, report them to [email protected]
If possible, keep a small log of your observations and what you did, such as:
⠀⠀⠀*whether you re-added, edited, or deleted mangas during restoration
⠀⠀⠀*any repeated issues (random logouts, missing notifs, errors, etc.)

Let me start by saying that everything Im sharing comes from spending many years on this site, observing patterns across multiple accounts, and reading user reports. Im not the dev, mod, or admin but Ive had experience with systems which is why I can answer your “whys” and “what ifs”
THIS IS THE SITUATION
Jan19 - Bto closes
⠀⠀⠀*start of traffic surge to Mgo
⠀⠀⠀*some features have slowed down a bit
Jan24 - Mgo goes down
⠀⠀⠀*caused by backend updates or overloaded servers
Jan26 - Mgo comes back up
⠀⠀⠀*site is online again but very buggy: missing lists, random logouts, slow pages, no notifications, etc
⠀⠀⠀*this is when the system started gradually restoring lists
WHY IS THE SITE SO BUGGY
- Mgo uses separate parts for different things. One to SAVE your manga data (aka database/the memory), another one to DISPLAY your saved Manga data (aka UI/what you see), and another one for your browser/session data (aka cookies, login state, etc/this also connects the database and ui). When everything is working properly, these three systems stay in sync (eg. when you save a manga, it will show up in your list right away)
The system will communicate with Database, like hey this is the user that logged in go tell UI the things they should display. So Database will tell UI, like hey based on what's given to me, these are the saved data that belongs to this user, these are what you should display. HOWEVER, because of the gradual restoring of lists (which puts a heavy load on the site), the System, UI, and Database are not able to communicate properly, so theyre not in sync. This is why we’re encountering the issues
I DON'T GET NOTIFICATIONS
- since the System, UI, and Database are not in sync, Mgo cant correctly link your acc to your saved mangas so notifs dont show up/update properly. This is temporary and should be fixed when the system is in sync again
WHY DO I KEEP GETTING LOGGED OUT
- Mgo keeps track of your login/session info. But if this isnt tracked properly, Mgo may log you out randomly/repeatedly
WHERE DID MY LIST GO
- Your mangas are not deleted. Theyre still saved in the database. Mgo is gradually restoring everyone’s list from the oldest to most recent marked mangas. Follow this post to get notified about updates: https://www.mangago.me/home/mangatopic/21092806/

- YES. Do note that while your list is coming back, you might notice some things are off:

I ADDED NEW MANGAS TO MY EMPTY LIST, WILL IT OVERWRITE THE OLD ONE
- if you ADD NEW mangas while the site is restoring, your new list will stay. And your original list will be added back on top of it once its fully restored. But if you RE-ADD EXISTING mangas, it will update the original date of when the manga was added, tags, and summaries/little notes you originally had for it. its usually best to wait and let the restoration finish before making lots of changes
WHY DO OTHERS HAVE THEIR MANGAS BACK ALREADY, WHILE MINE IS STILL MISSING
- think of this like we're reading through a giant BOOK of everyone’s manga list, arranged by the exact time each manga was added (aka timestamps). Each timestamp is like a page in the book, and we read them from the oldest timestamps to the newest. Right now, we are reading timestamps from Feb 2022 (as of writing this post), so any timestamp dated later than Feb 2022 wont appear YET
If your lists are still completely EMPTY, there are 2 possible reasons:
One is that its about “activity”, not account age. So even if you joined in 2016, but you didnt add any manga until 2023, your list wont appear until the system reaches the timestamps for 2023. The second reason is, since the system is very busy right now, it sometimes hits a blurry page and has to skip to keep moving. This doesnt mean your data is gone. It just means the system needs to go back for a second run once the "main reading" is done
HOW SOON WILL THEY COMEBACK / WHEN IS THE RESTORATION EXPECTED TO FINISH
- how soon your lists fully comes back depends on how far along we are in the “book” and how many timestamps we still need to read. If yours already started to appear again then thats a good sign. it means your account is already in the queue and the rest should continue to come back (gradually, not all at once)
If theres another run, expect anywhere from a few extra hours to about one extra day. A full second pass could push it to Feb 4–5, but a partial cleanup run would likely finish around Feb 2–3.

Not sure how to feel about this story.I’m not a slut shamer...but it feels different in this situation. This isn’t like Yarichin Bitch Club. That freewheeling sex situation is perfectly fine. Here...it’s something else. It’s not about being true to yourself and being free to sleep with whoever you want...but running away from who and what you want because you are a coward and hurting others in your wake.
Yes we have the story from the seme's pov so we are more sympathetic to Jirou and his feelings and we KNOW that Toua is continuously breaking his heart...
However, we also get snippets from Toua's pov and we can see that he KNOWS that Jirou is in love with him. Which is just cruel with the way he’s treating Jirou and Jirou’s feelings. He could end this situation but he won’t. He selfish and doesn’t want to let Jirou go.
We also see that Toua is also in love with Jirou but he doesn't want that. He's frightened of love. The end of chapter 2 shows that as he speaks about it to Jirou in the taxi and then later to Chet in the dressing room.
All Toua wants is Jirou and him to be free and have sex and not have feelings for each other...but it isn’t working out that way.
Feelings are popping up and Toua’s grand plan to fix that is for them to sleep with other people since they have been semi-monogamous this whole time. While being sex friends they weren’t exactly in an open relationship, but they also weren’t with other people, at least to our knowledge Toua wasn’t fucking other people during this time and we know Jirou wasn’t.
Chapter 1, Jirou thought Toua was in love with Chet. Then he realizes it just because Chet had a big dick that Toua was obsessed with him. But Jirou still knows he can’t have Toua even if he’s not in love with Chet. At this point in time they have been in this sex friends relationship for some time, at least several months. They have been in a semi-monogamous state in which while technically in an open relationship they were only fucking each other. So it was more or less a relationship rather than just sex friends.
So in chapter 2 Toua went after that girl’s manager and then there was the thing with Ryuu in chapter 3...this is part of Toua’s grand plan to fix things since at the end of chapter 1 he realized he didn’t want to let Jirou go. We saw that with how he chased after Jirou after Jirou left and how he also forced Jirou to attend the business party. He wants Jirou in his life, but Toua also didn’t want to love him.
If Toua wanted he could have a loving relationship with Jirou but he doesn't want a relationship with Jirou… So he’s running scared and trying to reset to how things were in the beginning.
Yet, he's also not happy with Jirou fucking Ryuu even though he set up the whole situation for Jirou to fuck Ryuu. It was a lie about the toys. He probably has more at home. It was all about setting Jirou up with Ryuu so he can kill the love that Jirou has for him. And probably for the love he has for Jirou to die as well.
When it started to become real and Toua could hear it and how they talked sweetly to each other we could see his expression and mindset change. Even at the end and Ryuu had left Toua was still lying on the floor like he got his heart broken.
And that’s where we are. Both guys got their hearts broken by Toua’s actions. Jirou is just about done with this whole situation and might want to try to find someone else, someone he can love who will love him back. Maybe not Ryuu...or at least not now. But there is that possibility between them.
Toua, we have no idea how he feels about any of this. He never responded to Jirou’s question and then left the country with no word. Maybe he reached the end as well. He can see he can’t just be sex friends with Jirou and so they are done.
At least, it feels that way with how Jirou’s ‘relationship’ is juxtaposed with that of his friend/coworker’s in this chapter and questioning what cheating is and they broke up. Jirou even asks, ‘were you even dating to begin with’ echoing how he feels about his situation with Toua.
It’s a good, interesting story, with complex characters and motivations, but it’s filled with broken hearts and tragic love and it is all laid squarely upon Toua’s shoulders. The question I have is why.
Something happened in college that changed Toua. Maybe it has something to do with Jirou. We know the two had a past of some sort. But something in Toua still wants something more than what he had before he ran into Jirou. We know this because Toua went after Jirou, he pursued him, got him into this sex friends relationship, later on he knew Jirou loved him and still kept up the relationship, but when he started to love Jirou as well he tried to put on the breaks while keeping Jirou and it blew up in his face.
So where do they go from here?
If Toua wants he could still have a relationship with Jirou but that means being honest and open and admitting he’s in love with Jirou.
Jirou still loves Toua...but I wonder if he’s reached his breaking point. Maybe not yet, but soon. Soon a time will come when he just wants to be done with Toua and his mind games and even if Toua came to him he would turn him away.
Everything rests on Toua and what he wants.
Unfortunately, since this is still only chapter 3, I don’t see this being solved soon and more drama and heartbreak is headed Jirou and even Toua’s way. Hell, maybe they won’t end up together in the end. I’m not sure.
I just know...that while I’m not slut-shaming Toua...I don’t like him. He’s not naive, he knows what is going on. He’s being selfish and he doesn’t want to let Jirou go but neither does he want a relationship so all he’s doing is causing heartbreak. So far, he has four victims: himself, Jirou, Ryuu, and that manager. How many more is he going to create?
