starting to like this author. or rather, I'm starting to like the way he gives life to his heroines

sad how the plot completely falls apart in chapter 5. if the story had continued on the same line as before chapter 5 this would have been excellent. now it's just another cut and paste romance with no focus

Doesn't feel that way. Yes love comes into play but one of them MUST fall in love with someone else NOT part of the group.

But it looks like they have sort of paired up. So something has to change.

these character designs are cash. i actually had to re-read the available chapters because i missed 99% of the background art due to how captivating these characters are

this is definitely among the very VERY few fantasy reincarnation/summoning LN adaptations that stands out and is worth reading. it has pretty average world-building so far, but i have enjoyed the way each character arc was developed and the minimalistic approach to interactions between protagonists. however, what i find most refreshing is how dark themes were incorporated into the character's back stories and overall development without being over expressed so that they come off as edgy or pandering to the likes of rebellious 12 year olds. and unlike other titles of similar setting, each character with whom the protagonist party interacts actually feels like there was thought put into their lines and personality, instead of just being given NPC roles and copypasta lines.

after chapter 60, absolutely nothing happens that's pertinent to the development of the story until chapter 200 or so. it's absolutely disgusting that an author would milk a story that was received well by the public this much just to stay relevant. by chapter 130 i was literally just skimming through the pages reading only panels and chapters with tachibana in them because she was the only character who managed to remain interesting from her first appearance up until the most recent chapter. after a while every chapter basically becomes 15 pages of "i don't like him, i don't like him, oh, i liked him allll alooong" then 5 pages of blushing and raku or maiko getting hit. if it had ended 130 chapters sooner, it might've been an actual story and not just a chronicle of needless events and characters who needed 3 entire years to realize they were in love

All his other works before this one were cut short and axed so even though its not admirable its understandable that he would drag it out. This is literally his first and only series to last this long and get an anime, a game, and other merchandise. Kind of sad in a way but it shows what the public truly wants (fanservice, moe, harems) for something like this to gain popularity while his other works cut short.

while technically being a 4-koma, given the panel size and and continuous storyline, it reads more like a normal manga, which is great. as a fan of this author though i worry considering the fact that this is now one of 3 or 4 series currently being produced by them. the quality might suffer down the road, or the content of all the ongoing series might begin to overlap and ruin their individual statuses

interesting role reversal. normally it's humans being reincarnated as monsters, or modern neets being reincarnated into a fantasy timeline. the translations are horrible though and make it difficult to enjoy

when i began reading this i was hopeful that we'd finally get what we didn't get in the original series. the feelings and actions of the characters after satoru fell into the coma. we were given glimpses, but by the time we had any clear expressions, they had all moved on with their lives and essentially moved past him, feeling little else but guilt and pity. judging by the pacing and the fact that hina seemed to reach the "im over it" point by the end of chapter 1, it doesn't seem like we'll be getting any conclusive feelings or reflections from the characters here either. at least we got more of satoru's mum though. I'll stick around for that alone.

this is pretty great, but unexpectedly heavy. especially considering that sora, the unofficial main character, is only in first grade. it's normally middle schoolers and high schoolers that become mechanisms in this type of prose. not that it's a bad thing, you just kind of have to adjust to it quickly because the interactions and internal dialogues are predominantly rich in substance and relevance to the situations in the story.
