Honestly, I was kinda looking forward to Rovine being a possible 2nd ML, but with what just happened, I don't know how the author's gonna spin it. Like, maybe a tragic background for Rovine, but f*ck that, it doesn't justify what happened. He directly challenged her. He should suffer the consequences even if he might feel sorry later on. it's irrational but I really really don't like Jeanette. Like, I hate the chapters where she and her villain dad are the focus. I suffer through it because we don't get enough updates, and I read it just for the little bits of Athy and Claude we get.

Also what she saw was the original and just cause you know the future doesn't mean you know how to change it instantly without it possibly getting worse at best unless you know how to make the future better you have to let it take its course that's why its a rule to not change events otherwise it changes the future. Also she said her things monthly so how can she know if her treating pryde like tiara will change her for the better or for worse quickly
lol yeah i get it's a bit weird raging at a fictional character so forgive the strong language. I knew this part was coming after reading the novel. I remembered the rage I felt then. (The novel showed worse behaviour). The way the manga pretty much brushed it off like it was nothing was what really got me.
How many years and visions did the queen have of Pryde, and the chances she had to try and change the future? accdg to the novel, queen kept trying to fix things but then ended up choosing to focus on 2nd child instead, and at a critical point of the child's (Pryde's) development. No checks and balances at all. Also, in-universe, the precog power is the power to see the future, effectively giving you the chance to change it (big or small change), or at least prepare for it. Queen's solution to a future with a tyrannical daughter? Don't make that tyrannical daughter queen. Daughter is tyrannical due to spoiling? (accdg to the novel), queen's solution: neglect the child instead.

Ooh, things get even worse with Gilbert. Lots of spoilers down that road.
As for the novel, it depends how you define worth it. I'd seen the novel first, but it only had a few translations that time and wasn't that interested until I came across the manga. I really like the art-style and how animated and expressive everything looks (reminds me of being almost shounen at times lol). The thing is, one chapter in the manga covers maybe 2 to 4 chapters in the novel. Like, legit example of 'a picture is worth a thousand words'.
The novel drags a bit, but it has a lot of detail too. The thing about the novel tho is we get Stayle's POV, a little of the younger sister's POV and some of the thoughts of the mom, but it's mostly Pryde's POV.
For now, I'm sticking to the manga, altho I do know what's going to happen, but it's nice to see things come to life with the art style. The manga is also slightly more light-hearted than the novel.

What about that father, saying that he will still stand with her? Seriously? She basically bad mouthed and didn't try to save your daughter, and you let her scott free?? Why is no one trying a coup d'etat??

Well, he knows how in love his parents are so no hope while Prime Minister is alive. And if he had doubts before he certainly knows now that his step mom has it bad for older men. So he'll bide his time and by the time his dad passes away he should be closer to her ideal type. It's a forbidden crush that fits with a villainous family.
That said I like to think that he's just young and Celeste was the first woman who seemed genuine towards him and his father. And that he will eventually find someone else using his stepmother as his standard.
He obvi has some insecurities about the physical defects of his father enough to go out of his way to be the opposite. So Celeste being gorgeous and addoring her classicly unnatractive husbands made an impact on him. Also she very clearly saw him and his father as two very diff individuals physically which was a relief for the son.
