I almost didn’t read this because of what the comments were saying, but as of right now, I don’t understand why anyone is upset. Something like this was bound to happen. The most kidnappable person gets kidnapped by rich people that, with all context, would do exactly that. The ML’s dad is not only an abusive weird creep, but a rich abusive weird creep that has his child do sexual favors for business deals and couldn’t even stand the idea of him dating a rich woman because her family is poorer than theirs. Did y’all think he would react positively when he found out his son was dating a man that works part time at his aunt’s chicken shop? I’m actually surprised he didn’t do worse. Haechan is a rich person with an odd personality and a history of obsessive behavior and stalking the ML. A fantastic scenario out of all the possibilities, given the circumstances. Literally one of the least surprising kidnappings with the least surprising accomplice that I’ve ever seen. And the incredibly empathetic MC leaving so someone doesn’t get hurt is equally as unsurprising.
I don't know if you've read the story, but the part with Haechan kidnapping and knocking out Jeonsu is the most unrealistic part until now.
What we've seen so far was a dark interpretation of what really was going on in Korea in big companies.
But now this kidnapping breaks the story. You know what happens when someone is knocked out? The brain is propelled against the skull. That's something that always has to be medically checked.
So yeah, of course people are angry and annoyed.
I did read the story, and I completely disagree. Firstly, the brain being propelled against the skull is not the only way to knock someone out. Here, they’re going for the “karate chop” method used in a lot of media as an incredibly simplified imitation of moves in some combat styles that use force to the neck to knock someone out, which you see the bodyguard do. Also, even if that weren’t the case, I don’t have the expectation that a romance manhwa would have complete medical accuracy/realism.
Secondly, I’m not sure how a kidnapping would break the story at all. Sure we’ve seen glimpses throughout the story which go along with the notion of the darker side of large Korean companies as a plot point, but that has not been the main focus of the story thus far that kidnapping a romantic partner or something similar would be outlandish in any way. The MC being kidnapped by the father/Haechan/the ML’s business rivals, etc. is completely believable all things considered even if this were to just be a bromance, let alone a romance where the ML talks about those two characters going for people’s weaknesses. Based on stories with similar plot elements, it was actually inevitable. The only question was who was going to do it.
Some of the people complaining feel that a kidnapping arc or any other conflict is unnecessary because they wanted the this to be completely fluffy story even though that outcome impossible from the start with context. The only argument that I could somewhat see someone having for slight annoyance is that the conflict should’ve been worse. Otherwise, the people who are angry and annoyed either don’t consume this type of media, or consume it with their eyes and ears closed.

you're right everything was bound to happen. and we all know it will be resolved in few chapters cause this manhwa is on the fluffy side. and for heachan he just wants drama hha and just like every other times he will blackmail the ml and overturn the father.
I don't think it's about it being unpredictable or not, it's just upsetting because we care about the characters which i think is kinda the point no??? Of all the build up in their relationship up to this point, to have the readers actually care and feel things when bad things happen to them?
Of course your middle schooler is going to be upset if you bring some random person in their home then try to force them to start calling that person mom/dad and acting like that stranger is their parent. That’s close of a relationship is one that’s formed by the child and the stepparent over time, especially if the kid isn’t really young when adding a new person to the family.
