the story is really cute, but so many of her culinary inventions would already exist, even in primitive forms, in most of medieval Europe, the model for this world.
it's so common for cooking isekai to use the "that didn't exist in this world and the mc invented it, what a genius" model for things that definitely did exist. like why is the bread always hard? even whole wheat bread with no yeast is soft when you first bake it. why doesnt sweets, let alone cake exist? primitive cake was first made in ancient Egypt by adding honey to bread. like yes honey is extremely rare in this world, but why do they act like the eat honey directly with a spoon instead of using it as an ingredient, before chihiro invents sweets. that makes no sense. not to mention the fact that "primitive" sweets where invented way before refined sugar was, just by using honey, fruits or sweet vegetables as a sweetener.
idk, but at some point, the way they make the culinary worlds of cooking isekais so primitive is racist at worst or lazy writing and lack of research at best.
tho the story is adorable, i can't help but think about that everytime she "invents" something new
