I have a small theory. We all think Guwon isn't human/is a zombie right? Especially since he's a reference to Sisyphus, a man who defied/cheated death.
What if their attempt at killing Guwon actually succeeds, BUT he gets back up anyway because death doesn't really apply to him? And that's how they find out about his situation.
And what if the hounds are the people who already know Guwon isn't human and that's why their worship of him is almost religious in nature?
