I’m not 100% sure how it works. It’s not just ads, but it’s the traffic of people. So let’s say that you’re on YouTube and see an ad for the popular webtoon Anti PT. You then google it and the official website pops up but so does mangago. You go to mangago cause it’s free. They in turn make money off of that ad you saw and the traffic that ad brings. So they are making so much money, for doing nothing.
That’s why when you start some comics there’s a warning page that says “please only read this comic on Mangadex, if you are reading it somewhere else, you are profiting off the wrong people.” Because there are groups that try to keep the integrity of the scans. This is also why authors hate illegal sites, because they are profiting off of so many wrong things. Not only is mangago encouraging illegal distribution of comics, but also making a profit off of everybody’s hard work.

either u can contact the last uploader by the information they have given to contact. they give their Instagram/ Gmail/ discord/Twitter id on the last or first slide or u can upload the chapter and then give the upper mention id so that the previous uploader can contact u.

First u should check when they last uploaded if it has 1 month or more months difference ( u can round off) u can upload and then give the information of how to contact u . So they can contact if they still plan on uploading it :)
