I've been reading this for almost 10 years and it became one of my favorite comics. We had long dry periods but I understood it. Drawing and writing a comic is a lot of work. And we are privileged that Old Xian is uploading it for free too. One chapter per month was fine, especially because the story followed an actual plot. Now we are kind of flowing in space where the plot is somewhere in the distance but not in focus. Every few months we get super short chapters that feel more like specials every time than proper chapters that follow the story. After a decade for the first time I feel a bit disappointed. Every other day Old Xian announced another Mo Guanshan Sandwich giveaway but no updates in several months.. it's getting tiring bro. I want to leave this comic behind but I can't because I feel so connected to it after 10 years, what should I do with this dilemma?
I've been reading since the actual beginning, and I see that people have become spoiled. This was never even supposed to be a story. It was just art, then short little comics with the characters.
The fact that we have any kind of story at all is a gift from the author, not an actual project.
So if you are disappointed, you can only blame yourself for the entitlement you allowed yourself to feel.
"for the entitlement you allowed yourself to feel" you don't know me, need to calm down and understand that there are humans behind comments. I have in no way disrespected her work. I just stated my opinion in a very clear and respectful way, while also being understanding that comic creation is massive work. You are rude for no reason. Also I have read every interview of hers, read other comics of hers or friends that include their life stories and checked her posts on weibo - there is not a single clue that this was not intended to become a story - it is only your personal assumption. Old Xian never said that it was only supposed to be art, in no interview whatsoever. Please stay with facts. You made something up and then became offensive. "this was never supposed to be a story" makes no sense anyway because she eventually made a story, a full on comic out of this. Calling strangers spoiled who read, appreciate and have never lost a bad word about her work for almost a whole decade and now simply feel sad that there are no updates because they love the comic so much is simply a lack of comprehension, empathy and makes you look bitter. As long as the author is not bullied and everyone stays respectful while stating their criticism (which we are allowed to give) it's not that deep. But you seem to stay true to your name, toxic BL reader.
No need to answer me back, I will not waste my time reading it as you have showed no basic respect in the first place.
Goodness, I LOVE YOU. That person has been going around calling people ungrateful and shit in the comments and it's really starting to get annoying. And lmao look at that pathetic reply to your factual answer to them. They really can't handle fandom spaces and it shows.
ANYWAYS, thank you for clocking their shit.
Yeah. And we should feel sad for them because what tragedy happened to them and how unhappy do they have to be in life to become an internet troll? They are like an open book. Thinking "HA now I got you and made you feel small and dumb" when in reality nobody feels attacked, dumb nor small - everyone just pities the troll for being such an unhappy person that tries to bring the mood down for no reason at all. I just know, if they stood in front of me in real life they couldn't even stand straight and look me in the eye. This behavior is also quite common with people who were bullied in school. In that case I hope they can find peace and a solution instead of insulting strangers online.
