I would love to give this a 5 star but I gave it 4 because of some things in here that annoys me. As vague as the author might try to make it, this is still a harem genre manga. He’s practically surrounded by girls and if that isn’t clear enough, let’s get your eyes checked. I’m a little annoyed because harem isn’t my favorite thing in the world and they could’ve warn us ahead of time by putting harem in the list of genre. Though it’s subtle, it’s still a itch that makes me want to scratch. However, I can still overlook it because I like the overall plot of this manga (minus the harem). Second, I truly dislike Jihan’s idea of justice. Not killing is one thing. No one would wants to kill unless they’re a psycho. The Abyss is a lawless jungle where the strong eats the weak. I get that he wants to protect those important to him too, but going around and conquering people in the name of justice, well, it’s like a kid dreaming big. His friends tell him many time that the world is unfair and even the fortune telling lady warn him what his ‘sense of justice’ could do. It’s annoying honestly. I enjoy his personality at first because he’s rational and knows his limits and sticks to his value but as he gets stronger, he put his nose in everywhere. You might as well make him a god.

he is the true harem king :P

    Silverknight74 February 1, 2020 1:32 am

He may be surrounded by girls but they don’t act all lovey dovey over him. Only the red head and the cursed girl truly like him (and the red head girl stopped showing jealously). The other girls just pick on him to get a reaction.

glad you still liked this reading. first of all, i didnt know that sun-il is female too. second, this is fantasy so its about getting stronger. he gets resources from attacking low rank groups. pretty sure you already know how most fantasy novel ends. dun dun dun, mc being the strongest. why do you even bother reading this kind of novels. so yah, he might become a god, who knows.

That beast man girl at the end annoys me. I hate nosy people. Bitch. ヽ(`Д´)ノ

vera.kim December 7, 2019 4:04 pm

I hope that this don’t turn out to be a story with a romantic subplot. But it’s too much to hope for because just looking at how it’s progressing, clearly the author hinted many times that they might marry. I just want this to be a story of MC’s pursuit of revenge. Adding this marriage BS just ruins the whole mood. If MC end up with a girl, I rather he end up with that girl from the Charred Dragon Unit. The Leader’s daughter is just annoying. ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

    KushKing88 January 10, 2020 7:09 pm

I doubt they’ll marry cuz when they introduced the divine maiden they said she may become the spouse of the leader or he may ignore her and we know!! This MC ain’t into anything but revenge, he doesn’t even like 17. I think the flame choose her when she had that dream so I’m guessing she’s the next divine maiden, but we’ll see. Fingers crossed on him soloing this bish cuz I could really do without the romance/harem b.s plot most authors jump into

We can kind of guess that he’ll get his revenge. And what happens after he gets his revenge? He’ll have time to get to know her.

Besides, the girl has to continue her bloodline. They might marry. I don’t mind that MC marry someone in the future, but why does it have to be her? She’s annoyingly from beginning to end. She somehow thinks she and MC are rivals and all of a sudden blushes around him. Ugh! Disgusting!

Yes exactly why her? Of all people honestly, I’m just sick of her type of character, she was annoying from the start but why couldn’t they make her the female version of him that would’ve been so cool. Instead she was annoying from the word go and then turned into a blushing wanna be bad ass. I hope to go she remains the divine maiden and grows old alone while he does his thing and smites all those people who messed with his master and him.

vera.kim April 6, 2019 6:24 am

As much as I enjoy it, this story is really annoying. Especially the main lead. Hello, your first love just came back to life after a decade and she can prove to you that she isn’t an imposter. You still didn’t believe her. It’s idiotic! He couldn’t forget her even after death yet when she’s right there, he denies it! Mind fucking blown.(╯°Д °)╯╧╧

It took him so long to decide that he wanted to be with the baby and the baby daddy. I dislike that indecisive part of him. Sure, his upbringing was shitty and he led a shitty life, but it doesn’t give him the excuse to hurt somebody else. If he hadn’t come back, his son will turn out differently. He should’ve just abort and move on with his life. I hate when people make everything so difficult.

    Nayarocks November 26, 2018 7:57 am

girl that’s not realistic though. it’s a lot harder than just making a decision

    Kin November 26, 2018 8:54 am

    Perlita-chan November 26, 2018 9:51 am

Having a baby and/or having an abortion are extremely difficult LIFE decisions. They are supposed to take a long ass time to make a final clear decision. There’s a lot of physical and mental health risks on both sides, even more so if you had such a horrific upbringing. You can only speak so ignorantly oafish like that becuz you’ve never been pregnant or have never had to deal with neglecting parents. Such a shame that we live in world with people unable to understand different perspectives without proper judgement. Wake up from Lala Land, hun. Life ain’t so easy and simple like the way you think.

What kind of fuckery did I just read?

vera.kim October 23, 2018 1:55 pm

The story is great so far until Misao became pregnant. The angst at the end of the story really disagree with me and I have my reasons. To me personally, I feel that Kyou love his son but a part of him hates Sou at the same time. I have a hard time grasping if Kyou’s affection towards his son is real. We all know he worked so hard to be able to be with Misao and it would kill him if she dies, I get it. But it doesn’t really call for the way he nearly hit his son (that’s a sign of potential abuse). I mean, Misao almost died because she choose to carry on with the pregnancy and I admire her for it. Kyou on the other hand couldn’t accept it and IF Misao had died, his attitude towards Sou would be a 360°. It’s just parents have to sometime realizes that a child is not to be blame for their mother’s death. No children ASKED to be born so in no way do they deserve this sort of treatment. Kyou have to also realized that they’re in this predicament because he and Misao isn’t careful during intercourse. Is it a child’s fault if their parent messed up? Absolutely not. If you look closely, Kyou is barely holding it together. The only reason he’s able to express affection for Sou is because Misao is still alive. She is the pillar of his support. Y’all think this is romantic, which to some degree it is, but this kind of entangled relationship is not healthy. Your significant other is your other half, not your everything.

    Mara Sempai October 26, 2018 8:12 am

Indeed you make a valid point of view but there will always be exceptions and the exception here is kyou and misao relationship, kyou placed his whole life on misao on how to make her his but still in reality for people who where mentally abused not appreciated not loved when growing up when they finally find their patner they not only cherish them but also affraid of losing them after knowing such happiness & warmth. I agree with you that if misao wasn't there kyou and sou-chan relationship would turn 360 degrees but time would have healed kyou's heart every time he saw a remarkableness in sou-chan to his beloved Misao but still every can be irrational when it comes to their reason for living which in kyou's case is misao. And still you would have to agree that in most child-parent relationship the mother is more likely to be the emotional pillar or the bridge between the father and child if you put it this way Misao & Kyou would't be as strange.

    arebg452 November 20, 2018 4:52 am

I actually disagree with you because I liked the fact that Kyou is so flawed and imperfect as a character. So many times in shoujo manga the male lead is this uber perfect person that is good at everything, always kind, fair, honorable and that has all the money in the world and is gorgeous and smart and has virtually no flaws. Even if they had a hard past they have overcome it completely and are now perfect (think Special A, Kaichou wa Maid-Sama, Ouran, Red River...).
The fact that Kyou is basically a co-dependent person and has that obsessive nature that might even surpass his love for Misao (like when he tried to forced her to do the preservation spell) and the fact that he has deep sequels of violence that he still cannot overcome, deep seated fears and prejudices that he is too psychologically weak to get rid of, makes this manga all the more beautiful to me. People are not perfect, they shouldn't be asked to be and everyone deals with trauma differently. And sure, Sou is not at fault for what happened to Misao and he is not responsible for her legs being damaged, but I don't fault Kyou his moment of weakness because when you have a trauma and that trauma is triggered by something (like Sou complaining that Misao walks too slowly) it turns you into a different person. You might not like that person very much and you might want one overcome the trauma that causes you to become like that, but it's not always possible. I don't think violence is the answer but I don't think the full extent, beauty and depth of this manga should be dismissed by only that single moment of fault. Everyone has their opinions of course, but I believe this is one of the romances with the best 2 leading characters that there are right now in the market.
