This consent thing is getting out of control. No, if you don’t say “Yes we can do it” it’s not always rape. You can feel the need to say it every time your bf/fiancé/husband wants to do it but it is not what everyone does and it is not a rule. When there is intimacy, there is really no need. It is important to say no when you want to stop or if something like this happens and you don’t like it your man has to respect it and never do this in the future. I do not think Seungho is suspicious. I think he is serious about the way he acts. But do you know why it feels weird? ‘Cause it’s rushed! It would have been better for the author to keep writing the story as she originally wanted it to progress. Instead people wanted softness and peace so she gave her fans that before going on with the story. Cute chapter, doesn’t really feel in line with the rest of the manga.

I remember there was one Korean series that was changed near the end because of the fans. The Director was not comfortable but they have no choice since the Producers wanted the change to cater to the fans.
Yeah, the author said she would rewrite some parts because the fans were not happy. And that her next work will be 100% her story without changing it. The thing is, I really like Painter of the Night. It’s a shame that “fans” didn’t get the essence of the manwha and only complained about the story. I guess it depends on the age of the readers or, anyway, on their maturity.

What bothers me the most is that you could see since the first chapters what kind of manwha it was. We saw Seungho killing people without caring, we saw him almost torturing Nakyum when he didn’t want to admit he was the painter. That was the kind of treatment Seungho would have kept showing if he was not interested at all in Nakyum. Because he DID many mistakes. I am not saying rape is a good treatment of course but, as you said, let’s be honest, if this was not about Nakyum, he would have already died long ago. People though expected to see a “loving story”. I think Seungho’s character development was already happening before chapter 70/71, slowly. But it was happening. And now it’s just... kinda ruined? I did expect to see a more caring Seungho but not this early, to be honest. Development is about small things, small moments.
About their life, I think they read mangas to evade from it, maybe. I think most of the people here are kids, if you read the comments it’s all “kyaaa kyaaa”. But I mean, there are SO many other mangas/manwhas with a cute plot, loving couples, etc etc... so why trying to look for that in this work too? What is the rush? It’s like everything they read must be unicorns and rainbows. Maybe I’m just too tired of reading that kind of clichey plot but what is the fun in reading always the same story, maybe in a different era or with different characters ?

Since I see everyone panicking and wanting to stop reading the manga just because Sooho suicided, I’ll explain a bit better the situation. I DO NOT know vietnamese so even if I read the raws using google this is not 100% accurate. Which is why I just used logic to understand stuff but I can’t, as I said, be 100% clear about what a I am gonna say.
Soo.. Sooho did not suicide randomly. Sooho suicided to save Taker. Basically sooho’s name was already on the list so he was going to die. Taker was very careful and saved Sooho even from a car accident. Sooho then started feeling a lot worse and stayed in bed for some time. While sleeping, he had a dream and it was Taker as a guardian angel saying that he needed his soul. Sooho woke up, kissed taker (who was sleeping) saying he would save him and went on the rooftop to die. Taker woke up and didn’t find Sooho on the bed, looked around and found him on the rooftop. Of course he could not understand why Sooho was doing that so we have a very teary scene where both the characters cry their hearts out. Then Sooho says “I’ll save you” and throws himself down. Taker TRIES to stop him but Dojin/Deleter stops him. Sooho, though, before hitting the ground, is touched by Taker the guardian angel’s hand (we can see from the ring, it’s the one Taker got from Sooho) and basically only a ball of light remains, Sooho’s soul. Taker cries cause he couldn’t save his lover and accuses Deleter soon after cause he stopped him. Everyone cries and mourns for a whole chapter but then Dojin shows in front of Taker. He shows him his magnolia tree and tells him that if he uses Sooho’s soul his tree will bloom. Taker gets mad saying that he will not use Sooho’s soul for that. At this point, sorry, but the translations are a bit weird so I’ll just try to interpret. In the previous chapters we discovered that a God can basically resurrect the dead. I think Dojin is suggesting to use the soul to make the tree bloom in order to level up Taker’s rank as an angel to Guardian Angel. Once he gains the rank, Taker can take Sooho back.
Dojin keeps explaining the situation to Taker. When he tried to take Sooho’s soul after the fight among them, he discovered that Sooho’s soul was sealed and Taker the guardian angel showed himself in front of him. At that time, he said that that was possible thanks to Dojin himself because he helped them. So he asks Dojin to help Taker and Sooho and that’s exactly what Dojin is doing.
As I said, this is not accurate. And also, remember the manhwa is not finished. Do not be drama queens and think that nothing can be solved. Just wait and read.

Well I must disagree with many of the comments in this section.
I think Seungho realized his behavior was not appropriate when the servant actually spoke up to him saying he is not heartless by nature and he could not understand why he treated Nakyum so cruelly. After that he even understood that Nakyum is also developing feelings for him.
I am kinda positive that this is a true development and not a fake one. Especially because right now Nakyum has many other enemies. We have the sister who will surely ally with the guy we saw in chapter 69 in order to make his brother leave the house (but I have a bad feeling about this and I am sure the ally’s purpose won’t really be that one), and even Inhun, do not forget he left the house well knowing that Nakyum is Seungho’s weakness and he is ready to bring them down. Ah also we have lord song, the father, who saw Nakyum’s painting about the son’s orgy and I’m kinda sure it’s something else they must face. Sorry but with all this, I don’t think Seungho is faking his feelings.
Just be happy for a glimpse of tenderness, the relationship between them could develop with the time but the drama will keep haunting them anyways.

I think Deleter did try to get Sooho’s soul when he woke up in the middle of the night after being injured. I think he was not able to get it, though. The light where he found himself in that moment, in my opinion, was inside Sooho’s soul. All the stuff he said led me to thinking that Sooho’s soul has a kind of free will, it’s like it is destined to someone so other people cannot take it. Of course I think Taker will be the one to have it since he is the one that Sooho loves but who knows, maybe it’s not even about dying. There are many possibilities to this manhwa. I can’t forget that Taker is an Angel and we see he doesn’t really age so it could be that he will live his life with Sooho and then, when Sooho grows old, the soul decides to stay with Taker. But the soul could have a deeper meaning. Actually I have more than one theory about this but I guess it’s too early to talk. Let’s see how this mother’s matter will be solved!

I only see a few people here who actually understood the nature of the manhwa. This is not a light story. If you can't accept it and can only criticize it I recommend you just stop reading and come back only to read the end of it or, maybe, never come back in order not to disappoint/hurt yourselves (or the author with your unproductive criticisms).
What happened in this chapter is imo a big turn in this story and yet people can't stop ranting saying "awww poor nakyum he needs to run away awww poor one I hope he finds someone better". Idk it just makes me mad to see that no one appreciates the story as it is. Even if there are some flaws there is no need to flame or insult the author ot whatever. From my experience there are so many "more violent" popular mangas and I don't see all this drama in the comment section there. Just stop for a moment to appeciate the author's work and get out of your rainbow bubble. It’s the curse of every popular story really, there was a time that POTN’s comment section used to be mostly about people actually discussing the story, posting theories and expressing somewhat useful stuff. Now that POTN is one of the most popular manwhas out there it keeps getting flooded by these type of comments because it’s “cool” to cancel something, even a fictional character. Killing Stalking went through the exact same thing. People love to drag the story and the main characters every single chapter saying the same stuff and that probably won’t stop till the end of the story.

Yeah exactly. There are so many fluffy and clichey stories on mangago, I also read some of them, but that's another genre. People can't expect everything to be fluffy and cute. I do see developments and changes in every chapter that is published and I can't stop waiting for the next update to see what will happen next. It hurts me to see that the author decided to change the story that was originally written so much because people flamed her and criticized her work. And I'm glad she already made it clear that the next work will only be based on what SHE wanna write, that it will be so much darker and all. I mean, it's HER work. The problem is that negative comments are taking over. And it's not even about mangago only anymore which is terrible. I mean as you said comments should be constructive. Even if someone doesn't like something, the minimum is being tactful saying it. But people seem to ony care about what THEY wanna read and not what the author wants to write. Yes!!! I definitely think most of these people who keep complaining are underage. Ironic because they’re not even old enough to read this but they still feel a disturbed sense of power to come here every single week to shout hate on Seungho and point fingers at toxicity. Most mature readers know what they’re in for and that, as we discussed here, this has never been a fluffy story.

If I’m not wrong this manhwa has been already dropped by the author, we have only some more chapters left to be translated, so the only chance to exactly know what will happen is translating the novel or hoping someone can spoil it a bit. There is a thread online where someone who read the novel gave some infos about their future though so if you are interested you can go look it up
If this is true that's unfortunate but do they usually drop manhwa adaptations like that? I know some tend to be rushed and therefore skip chapters from the original novel but to drop it is messed up.

The title is the same, Irreversible (불가역). Problem is there is no team working on translating it, and it’s like 9 volumes long so it’s a pretty hard work. I read the manwha and found some spoilers online though so I kinda know how it will end in general and I’m satisfied. Reading this manhwa was nice!
